    When are tryouts? Orlando area

Not that familiar with Florida clubs. I'm looking at a transfer end of Spring from Dallas to the Orlando area. My 2007 daughter currently plays up in 06.

    Tryouts here start July 1.

Any suggestions for coach/club with strong training environment?

You’ve come to the right place. You’re sure to get truthful, informed, non partisan advice. Good luck.

But if you stay in Florida come to Tampa - TBU is by far the best club in FL.

They'll be earlier here - likely beginning in late March for DA and ECNL and continuing through April and May for non DA or ECNL clubs.

Ow. Sorry to hear that. We're pretty familiar with the SoCal clubs, having played Surf, Blues, Legends, Albion, etc. but haven't played any Florida clubs. The reason I was asking.

Central FL ECNL tryouts around end of May, boys. Have a feeling there will be big turnouts as top players looking to move. My suggestion is to get a hold of the coach for your sons age group and see if you can come to a few practices with their ECNL team before tryouts.

Coming from TX you will be disappointed. TX and CA are two of the best soccer states in the country. The players, the coaches and the training in FL will be well below what you are accustomed to in TX.

youth soccer in this state is absolutely horrible in general. They are money scams like previous person said, and the training stinks, the style of soccer stinks, unless you like kickball. And yes, I’m talking about ECNL level play here. Can’t say I care for any of the clubs and have taken my kid out of club soccer it’s that bad.

Its the strangest thing so much culture from soccer rich countries in this state. The soccer is beyond deplorable. But why?

Have to say this thread is somewhat depressing. Is there a good futsal program in the Orlando area?

Here's the deal don't listen to these nay sayers but go to a tryout to see for your self. Sure FL soccer is not perfect but it is sure not horrible as some will tell you here. Our son has been in FL club soccer from Jax to Orlando for the past 8 years and have had very few complaints, now our expectations are also not sky high either. It seems these few folks that paint a grim picture more then likely have an axe to grind. Now i will agree some club teams have average talent and training but that's why you don't settle on one club tryout. Next season our son will try and join his ex-teamates at ECNL.
