Oh my goodness. That is amazing. Is it really called the ThornMobile?

Six hours on the side of the road pouring water bottles on the radiator.

      The memories? Priceless.
      Cheetos and Red Bull?

Unfortunately US soccer expressly prohibits a try out fee so that's good. It lowers the barrier to participate. Always good.
When we tried to sign up there was still a fee. Our daughter said no way to giving up high school so it's irrelevant for us.

We looked it at another way HS Soccer cost us around $300 due to the school and if she makes the DA we save $300. In addition to the 8k of savings fronted by Peregrine in the DA program.

                Good question.

                  Ask them.

While your at it ask them while they feel it's necessary to spend $8,000+ on every player that makes the girls DA and $12,000+ on every player that makes the boys DA.

Let us know what they say. Very good questions for sure.

In what world is a $125 try out fee even remotely reasonable?

I thought US Soccer prevented girls DA from charging any try out fee?

No one who is trying out cares. A $125 fee and $2k all-in if your kid gets on. This includes kit and all travel and hotel expenses. If your daughter is already playing at this level then you know this is $5k less than you are spending now.

                            It's an outrageous money grab.

They need the exorbitant tryout fee to pay for the van rides to Burlingame.
