Agreed. The 06s are not the strongest bunch. I would email a coach and ask to guest at a practice. The huge tryouts at the end of the season are HUGE and a kid can get lost unless they are a flashy type of player. The good passer who sets up teammates will get lost in the flash of the player who takes that good pass and scores. Also, stars favors the super fast striker over all else so unless that's what your kid is a little more exposure is better.

Why worry about tryouts? Real question is did JD get a new Bentley? All these teams and all these mergers, he must have two or three by now.

You obviously don’t know the guy. He is not by any stretch a fancy guy and pours a lot of money back into the program. How else can you explain 4 fields with lights?

More revenue opportunities and saves all the money spent on renting fields to pay for it. I think he is doing just fine. Nothing JD does is for free. It is all about the money.

Agree to disagree. And he doesn’t rent fields except for tournaments. They are used.

Good one, but I’m not JD. You can criticize the guy, but not about this.

Stars need to take 54 “ECNL” players next year and there won’t be an A team or B team. The dilution of talent within the Stars teams right now is a major problem. At other clubs there are A teams and B teams. At the Stars there is balanced teams. If you put the best players together they would be the best team in the state. The reason the stars aren’t what they used to be is because of the east and west teams and not just 1 ECNL team. 07s aren’t good, 06s are above average but no where near what the dominant Stars teams used to be. The problem Stars have right now is the best players are catching on to this and don’t want to go to them. They would rather play on a real top team and stay at their own clubs. Coaching at Stars is simply bullying tactics and people are seeing through it for what it is now. Kids and parents just don’t want that.

Stars will get NEFC second string players but the SSS players that don’t want to play DA will go to Scorpions. 08s are the only hope for the Stars right now. Once that goes east and west though, the same will happen again. Shame.

Stars regional teams rent fields all over MA. Most Stars teams don’t get to play on those nice fields in Lancaster unless it’s for tournaments. Mainly just ECNL, NPL, and the Central region teams practice and play there. Kind of a hike for most teams to go to Lancaster regularly.

That is not the renting the poster was referring to.

Stars aggregates the best talent at U14. Before that it is still mostly regional. Standings don’t matter before U14. The U14 year begins Champions league playoffs for ECNL and Stars is focused on putting top talent together to compete in this playoff. 06, 07 and 08 will all look different when U14 age year comes.. East and west or blue and white or A and B doesn’t really matter until U14 that is when the split happens. Top players from each geography at U14 will come together. Whoever would switch to Scorpions is crazy, look at their results. The issue is the parents whose kids don’t make the east, blue or A team at U14 can’t handle it.

Truth. Across the country the top teams at the top clubs are talent AGGREGATORS.
Yes they have some homegrowns, but starting at u14 the shift begins and by HS (prime recruiting years) many outside players will have been welcomed as upgrades.

True they are not unusual in that regard. The system more or less is a funnel, kind of wonky funnel, but one nonetheless.
