    They are guaranteed in NPL and now they will have to fight to be the top dog there with a lot already announced players' defection. Majority of top players and families like competition. NEFC can't spin this. They had good situation in the old NPl and their teams consistently beat ECNL teams. Now with two age groups combine they can hardly compete.

      In some ways they had little choice if they couldn't get into ECNL before. But the above poster is right - now they're playing some of the very same NPL teams they were before, but they get to fly to showcases, miss more school - and drive 5-6 hours for one game in NY, most times against a garbage team like Alby or Empire. At some point parents really should be asking themselves why?
