They should compete on a regular friendly basis not for bragging rights but to help all the players get better so both gda and ecnl teams can do better in their respective leagues out of state.

An argument for our locals to play locally. Mirrors the Oregonians passion and love for recerational HS Soccer. Have a couple travel events with your club team and play in the state league. Canvassing the NW for games every weekend is pointless considering the same average teams exist 5 miles down the street.

Yes. And play a lot so there is hope to win bragging rights back and the girls get better and better playing each other.

It is preferable to just say whatever you want and not care about facts.

I suspect that is why the GDA teams in Oregon have struggled getting better players?
High school was cited by SoCal and Washington clubs that dropped out. For right or wrong.

Oregon clubs never had that option; DA or HS.

The fact is that elite girls don’t have to give up anything. The ban on high school is in my opinion just silly. That’s why the program struggles in my opinion.

The teams from U14-U17 are riddled with players who made the team because they went to tryouts and they needed warm bodies. Look, I don't begrudge the platform, or the the Thorns, or any of it, but you can't just claim to be "highly selective" when the facts say otherwise.
                          Semi-warm bodies FTW

Oregon Local Clubs never had a choice of DA or HS.

Due to the fact we have no local clubs accepted into the DA.

.Playing at HS in JV2, JV is the perfect fit for nearly all of the local club girls.

When they become upperclassman they have a shot a HS Varsity, which is so cool.

None of our top players that wanted to play high school went or stayed with the Thorns, so they struggle. You’re right, our top players don’t have to give up anything and can play wherever they want with the exact same results.

Most of the areas best HS players opt to play DA with Timbers and Thorns. Just the way it is. Untill they get let go by the DA

Sorry you thought otherwise and didn't realize the top players had left HS in a nanosecond for DA.

Girlfriend your talking about Oregon HS Soccer, its a sacrifice to humanity to stay and play this level.

Those lucky enough to get out and play in the timbers or thorns DA jump at it.

                                .
