We all know this is GS writing this. He is so transparent. And for the record #4 is having trouble because no one is playing the long ball to her feet like her old team. This team doesn't play long ball. And yes the post did blame the girls. First line was that the girls atriuitde had changed. The girls have remained as positive and composed as possible in an impossible situation. The club has thrown a ton of changes at them mid season and then gave them a dad coach with his own agenda. These kids are old enough to think and understand things on their own without having their parents dictate how they think or don't think. Give them credit for not only being bright young ladies but for knowing what is right and wrong. The people that have totally screwed things up and tried to blame it on the kids need to take responsibility. And to say old coaches didn't do their job make no sense since they had much more success with so called less talent than the current coaches are having. We are not stupid.

You don't get it. All teams that had success at younger ages with pure athleticism struggle as they get older. Other teams get just as fast or bigger and stronger. The difference is in their ability to play by moving the ball. This team has never been able to do that. You weren't even the top team last year in Florida, or in Region C, or even in the Tampa Bay Area, so not sure what success you are talking about.

The U18 really dont care just unhappy, but all are already committed to somewhere, the U17 , well they are just screwed as far as college help goes, and the U15 parents are mad at paying so much to get the ECNL training and getting none. So pretty much a big mess!!
The U18s are having some really bad luck. The injury to JS in the first game and the really close games that have all gone against them has taken its toll. They still play an incredible game of soccer and other teams fear them. They are 5th and still have a chance to make the playoffs but unfortunately only 2 teams make the playoffs in the U18 age group so it will be difficult. They are likely to finish 3rd-5th.

U17s- They are in PRIME position. They are in 4th place and have the easiest schedule left of any team in their age group within the conference. Their remaining games are against (2nd, 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 6th, 7th, 7th, and 8th). They play 5/8 games against teams below 0.500. They are only going to move up and will likely finish 2nd or 3rd in their conference.

U16- This team is a mess that I do not ONLY blame on the club. This team has a ton of adversity for many reasons but the biggest problem is the parents because although it is the club's fault for taking 26 players/mixing of two high level teams the parents could have taken a different approach then they did. Instead of rallying around the kids, the parents got negative which I am certain they brought up in front of their own kids making things worse for this team. Instead of being positive and supportive they have turned negative and I am certain it has hurt the team. The team has injuries on top of everything else. The team is currently 7th and this team has the ability to mainly control its own destiny because they play the top 4 teams in the 5/8 games they have left. They can make the playoffs but with the parents attitudes its seeping into the team and making things worse. The funny thing to me is that VI is NEVER coming back no matter how bad things get so the attitude of the parents completely befuddles me.

U15 Currently 6th with games remaining against (1st, 3rd, 3rd, 4th, 7th, 7th, 8th, 8th). They are definitely going to move up and will likely finish higher then they did last year. I think they will make the playoffs but they are a bit schizophrenic as a team. I think they have amazing ability and are equal to or better then anyone in their age group but they do not believe it yet. They will either finish 4th or 5th.

        U14s Currently 3rd.
This team is doing well but very injured and will likely not finish higher then 3rd because the top 2 teams in this age group are way out in front of the competition much like the GSA U17 team. They will likely not make the playoffs because like the U18 age group ONLY the top 2 teams can make the playoffs.

The factors that people need to keep in mind is that our travel partner sucks this year so instead of teams that we play having two "tough" games each weekend they have 1 easy game and then play us. So while we are bashed and bruised in the first game we then have to turn around and play a team that did not have as hard of a time from the day before.

The schedule has been a bit uneven with our club playing a large share of its most difficult games in the beginning of the season. For U15-U18 we have 8 games left to play each. For the U15, U17 and U18 13/24 of the games are against 6th place teams or worse. We also have not played our travel partner like everyone else in the conference has and our travel partner has a total of 4 wins in 40 games of which 2/4 wins come from the U14 team for that club.

        My prediction:

U18 3rd or 4th (even with last years finish)
U17 2nd or 3rd (Ahead of last years finish by ALOT)
U16 4th-6th (will finish worse unless they circle the wagons and the parents quit the BS)
U15 4th or 5th (even or better then last year good chance for top flight of playoffs)
U14 3rd or 4th (should finish 3rd and likely will not finish higher then that)

Get a clue. Last year in ecnl we did much better than this year with supposedly more talent. Either the coaches suck or the new players are not as good as the club thought they would be.

"U16 4th-6th (will finish worse unless they circle the wagons and the parents quit the BS)" by parents quit the BS you must mean GS. Without GS coaching is daughter and looking after her friends there would be way less BS going on with the 16's.

It's difficult to get any rhythm when number 4 wants to play it on the ground and everyone else want to boot it forward.
Telling them directly? These are 15 and 16yr olds...they are posting to this thread. They read it. Look on Friday there were girls from this team running down their own teammates, I bet that affects their attitudes. The cliques, finger pointing, the talking behind eachother's backs, yeah that probably does affect the team...maybe more than the parents.

But where is the training? Our new coaches dont even know how to sub let alone coach! '''true question is are the players and the parents happy?" The answer is NO!

Most of the girls and parents on all teams are not happy. Several teams in ECNL are no where near elite, and traceling to play these teams is a joke.

And now to help the girls out they are canceling practices for High School Tryouts because they will be getting more good training there. Well how nice for them. The staff is going to keep getting paid and now be training less. Great the training the girls were getting was bad enough, now there is no training offered. Great our girls go off to play in college with only High School training? And how will these girls play when they just show up for games, no practice. Not well or as a team.

Again back to square one, the main issue are not the teams, to me looks like the club has no DOC, BL is just there for the $$$, less training = less work, knowing that BL works part time and makes $89K is sad, the guy is destroying the East campus as he did to the West.

Most parents on most teams are very happy as are the players. The fact of the matter is we will do much better as a club this year then last year. The U16 parents are clearly driving the unhappy bus but in my opinion they are part of the problem and making it worse for the team and their kids.

That is not really fair. There are a lot of girls that want to play for their High School teams and on top of it there are a ton of injured players. The U18s had 1 sub all weekend, the U16s had 3 if you count the one who played on a sprained ankle. The U14s are decimated. These kids actually NEED the rest. But of course, one would expect some of you folks to find an issue with anything the club/coaches do.

Clearly you do not know many parents. I have not heard ONE positive thing from the parents on ANY age group. We had 4 girls on the U17 team that had a college coach there at their game from a school they had corresponded with and 3 of the 4 did not start and barely played in the 1st half. Coach left at half time. Well done. This is how your girls will be helped to get to play in college.

GS is destroying this team and BL thinks it's ok to have a dad on the team coaching.
