American soccer has finally changed for the better. This is a paradigm change. Should've happened 50 years ago (along with the rest of the world). Glad it's finally here.

Sounds like the payments will only be coming one way since few American men successfully make the pro ranks elsewhere.

Solidarity payments make a lot less sense in the American soccer landscape in regards to youth clubs. Solidarity Payments are basically a ROI & over here, the investor is the parents writing the check. In Europe & Elsewhere, youth players are SIGNED by the club & the club invests in their development. Clubs are getting a return on that...
A parent could pay $20k easily for youth development in the US. If that kid succeeds & goes pro, you want the ROI to go to the club who already pocketed $20k & notoriety?
