American soccer has finally changed for the better. This is a paradigm change. Should've happened 50 years ago (along with the rest of the world). Glad it's finally here.

Couldn't have been too uninteresting if you took time out of your busy day to comment on it....

GPS gross profit in 2019 will be more money than the MLS will receive in solidarity payments over the next 10 years.

MLS clubs will get solidarity players when they lose their players, but I bet when they steal players from every other non-MLS club, they will pay nothing ... system still broken.

this will change for the better. The biggest step is what just happened. The rest should happen in time When the courts see the inequities, it will happen.

Sounds like the payments will only be coming one way since few American men successfully make the pro ranks elsewhere.

The only thing this will do is give incentive to all clubs to develop pro level players. Once a club starts getting substantial returns on their investment we will see a change in how the clubs train our kids.

                      Pay 2 Play

Solidarity payments make a lot less sense in the American soccer landscape in regards to youth clubs. Solidarity Payments are basically a ROI & over here, the investor is the parents writing the check. In Europe & Elsewhere, youth players are SIGNED by the club & the club invests in their development. Clubs are getting a return on that...

A parent could pay $20k easily for youth development in the US. If that kid succeeds & goes pro, you want the ROI to go to the club who already pocketed $20k & notoriety?

                        MLS clubs are free.

MLS clubs routinely produce players that can’t make a D1 college squad. “Homegrown” players are generally PR stunts.

At the Revs they definitely are. Some other clubs have had more success

Most MLS clubs are free, but not all.
