Honestly, you don't know what you don't know. I have a u17 and while the travel today is considered justifiable and I relish our time together, it simply doesn't compare to the u12 - u14 experiences, especially for her. The u13s viewed the entire weekend as a sleepover and missed nothing at home. The u17s view it as a business trip and miss HS social events that are important to them.

If anyone should be telling any family what to do, it is I with the wisdom of experience (x3) who should tell you to take a breath and embrace these times. Best part of soccer is the car, plane, picking a rental car, finding restaurant, exploring a city.... Stop calling out others choices and hug your kid
