The state of Providence College men’s soccer: Analyzing the Big East program
    By Jonathan SigalOctober 16, 2020

Editor’s note: As part of a running New England Soccer Journal series, we’re profiling Division I programs in the region. Even with the COVID-19 pandemic disrupting college soccer, there’s plenty going on behind the scenes.

Over the past seven years, no Division I men’s college soccer team from New England has enjoyed more success – at least on a national stage – than Providence College.

The Friars made the semifinals in 2014 and quarterfinals in 2016, then lost in the Sweet 16 against Clemson last year, defeated only on a penalty kick in double overtime.

Head coach Craig Stewart, who leads one of two Big East programs from the region (UConn is the other), expects Providence to be in those conversations on a consistent basis.

I don’t subscribe to the NE Soccer Journal so serious question... is this the entire article?

Why don't you tell us a little bit more about your esteemed education. Was it attained at place where statements and fragments took the place of complete thoughts? While it appears the vocabulary lessons included the term "mediocre," it looks like they failed to inform you that such a word does not require and intensifier like "so." It's on par with referring to something as "very unique," which, by the way, you are not.

Amen! A $70k back up plan when you don't get into BC is painful.

The piece was mostly about what they are doing now --stopped, practice--again--soon-- and what they have in personnel (24 on campus, + few recruits may come if 2nd sem starts the season, for sure).

It mentioned a few veterans and a handful players they lost. Also '21 recruit Colby Quinones could turn pro if this virus doesn't end for real next season.
