Aw, leave him alone. He’s slow and we just let him scream at the telephone pole. He’s not hurting anybody.

They should wait and play ENCL. Say what you want about ECNL, the worst ENCL team would cream any OYSA team. Nothing to gain for anyone by "being able to play games."
That being said, it's unlikely we will see a fall league anyway.

Rumor has it a girls FC Portland ECNL team came in 4th place in OYSA Premier.

As of today our neighborhood local OYSA club teams will play in the ECNL travel league if those games actually happen and it doesn't conflict with our beloved & cherished OSAA HS League.

In the meantime since we are all OYSA member clubs, we will elect to play in the OYSA this Fall if that happens.

Remember just like previous years we are so excited that recreational HS soccer is on from Feb to May this Spring, this is where the magic happens for us!

Hope that spells out our reality.

          (fixed it for ya)
Most accurate post of the year, nominee of course.

Oregon has traditionally fielded the worst teams in the US Club (ecnl) as such anyone they play in this league is better.

Unlike oregon where maybe only 3 or 4 teams are better. (see FC PDX 4th place team)

Great case for year round travel expense.

Was that the legendary 2002 and 2001 team? Fourth place in OYSA Premier is tremendous for them.

You can't nominate your own post. It is so numb that nobody but the dense fog brain that wrote it would like it.

CU is a top 20 ECNL Club and competes just fine around the country.. Other two clubs in ECNL from Oregon do kinda suck a little, but CU is good...

I think the Thorns will probably be decent at ECNL as well. FC has fallen and fallen far.

Thorns have been very bad in the past. What has changed. ECNL is a tougher league than the league they previously played in.

Do clubs get relegated/dropped from the ECNL if year or year performance is poor?

No they get rewarded with more travel so the top teams can have better goal differential and save a worthless trip to portland...same as it ever was.

After 8o of the best 100 clubs in the US Club (ecnl) left for the DA a few years ago CU did indeed become a top 20 club in what remained of a US Club league strictly due to these top club departures.. You have a point, albeit a hilarious one. Oregon has always sucked and until the Thorns got invited to the DA, no other local clubs ever got an invite to the now defunct DA..

US Club league let the Thorns into their league, no questions asked since they were in the elite level DA. Smart move as that demotion to the US Club League happened all over the country.

In the endUS Club has improved their standard pushing the Oregon Clubs & Thorns back into the basement.

                            Same as it ever was...

If so then Thorns won't be around long

You mean when fewer than 10 top ECNL clubs left for the GDA - and then returned almost immediately once they realized how rec-level the GDA was before it died. Only reason Thorns were let into ECNL is because US Soccer is trying everything they can to save the NWSL. This too will fail but... And if you think GDA was "elite level" then you know very little about "elite level" soccer.
