Can we revive this thread?. The other thread (2014 HS girls soccer) has gone down a rat hole.
Any teams looking really strong or weaker then expected?

Are any other teams being inundated with injuries? If so, how many? Our varsity team had 8 players sitting out of practice today due to short and (4) long term injuries. Is this higher than other teams have ever experienced?

Not all that uncommon, unfortunately. The girls come into tryouts from the summer with bodies that are soft and not accustomed to the strenuous nature of every day soccer. After a week of two-a-days and then everyday practices once school starts, and the season gets underway, the injuries inevitably start to mount.

Unless your player has been pretty fanatical about maintaing match fitness during the summer, injury is a significant risk. Of course, even consistent training in the offseason is no guarantee of avoiding injury altogether, but the summer downtime is the culprit here more often than not.

AC will power Marshfield. Strong back line, not much scoring beyond the Northeastern signee but they will challenge

A 5-0 shellacking by WH? Slow is one word for it, I can think of several others..............

She sure did not power Marshfield in the 2 to 0 loss the other day.

Pretty much marked by 2 defenders the whole game. Other scoring threats are slim, BR did a nice job. The rest of the side needs to step up before they get to the soft league schedule, which means nothing since ACL is so bad

you are incorrect. she was not covered by two defenders most of the game. they did not need to do that to keep her from scoring. she is, however, the best offensive threat on the team and is a good player.

I have seen her play too and many times. As I said, she is a good player. However, not so good that she needs to be double teamed. She will do fine in college.
