Last years keeper was far more than average, and relative to what they will have this year, they will see a significant drop in a very important position. That and the loss of an all league center back will be felt. It does depend on how well the others step up and fill in the gaps. But the loss of a very good keeper without a good replacement will hurt.......especially for a team that has had trouble scoring.

Silver Lake will be down this year in the patriot league. They lost some really good players. Lucky for them the DAP player came back. Pembroke looks good in that league.

Agree that needham's center back was really good, but following that thinking, both of wellesleys center backs were all-league, and both graduated.

That's just way too many to list, esp when many will never play each other. Granted that sometimes a smaller school has a really good team, Walpole in 2013 supports the view that, most of the time, even when a team can dominate at d2 or lower, we should not let such teams' awesome-looking records lead us to think they're better than many d1s. Acoordingly, comments below

1 Needham - yes, they should score more. But until someone explains otherwise, they're the favorite.
2 Wellesley - move way down. Among the smallest in e.mass. d1, and their graduation losses have been noted on the BSC thread. Have good players, but maybe not enough depth.
3 BC High - both large and recruited, they'd have to do a lot of losing to be moved down
4 Brockton - many feared facing them last year, also a huge size advantage, so they could be on the rise
Natick - insert them here. Favored to win their division of BSC
5 Walpole - move them down. Outlook seems to be level with last year at best, or about 8th in their league.
6 Medway - May win their league, but would you favor them against a huge school like Weymouth? I wouldn't.
7 Nauset
8 Oliver Ames - all-state player graduated
9 New Bedford - move up to 2. They were really good last year, huge school, generally can just reload
10 Braintree - move up above the d2s and 3s. Big keeper, will have some success in the leading league
Weymouth - insert after Braintree. Against their schedule, the record won't impress, and no one expects them to rebound to prior success right away. But this is one of the biggest schools, and they face the toughest schedule. I wouldn't favor any of the 2d 10 on this list head to head against them, assuming they're similar to last year.
Milford, Taunton, Mansfield - insert here
11 Hingham - showed last year in their few games vs really good teams that they were not at that level
12 Pembroke
13 Franklin - move up above Hingham at least. Could win their league
14 Norwell
15 Holliston
16 Dartmouth
17 Martha's Vineyard
18 Greater New Bedford
19 Attleboro
20 Silver Lake

On the Bay State Conference thread, Bob hasn't gone too far out on a limb from the rank above by predicting BC as state champs this year. What would help is, what's the reasoning for the pick?
