FC Stars giving out 40 % refunds or credit?

Is this post real? If it is then it does not look good for summer soccer for any team unfortunately. Im sure they consulted with ECNL and other league teams before sending this email out if its real. Very sad for the kids.

FC Stars just sent following email. Will your club do the same?

The club has taken the decision to provide a credit/refund opportunity to all players in good standing with the club in 2019-2020, as follows.
    a) All graduating Seniors (2019) will be offered the following options
o A refund of 40% of the fees paid by that family in 2019-2020.
o A donation equivalent to the refund value to the FC Stars Financial Aid program
    b) All 2019-2020 two-season players (winter and spring), generally high school aged players, with the obvious exception of the graduating Seniors, will be offered the following options.
o A credit of 40% of the fees paid by that family in 2019-2020 to be applied to the team fee for 2020-2021.
o A refund of 25% of the fees paid by that family in 2019-2020.
o A donation equivalent to the credit value to the FC Stars Financial Aid program.
    c) All younger 3-season players (Fall, Winter Spring) will be offered the following options
o A credit of 30% of the fees paid by that family in 2019-2020 to be applied to the team fee for
    2020-2021.
o A refund of 15% of the fees paid by that family in 2019-2020.
o A donation equivalent to the credit value to the FC Stars Financial Aid program.

Any club that wants to stay in business has to do something. The Stars plan is solid and I suspect most families will be good with it. Not every club may be able to match it but as I said they have to do something or families will walk. Beyond the $ and gesture of good faith, it's a signal the club might not even be able to operate in the fall.

I agree. If you don't extend an offering and you are blatantly moving forward without good communication with parents then I don't think you will make it. My son's club came right out and said that if we refund then we can't survive. At least they came clean and didn't pretend. They just might make it because of their transparency

The point is if FC Stars are now giving out refunds and credits that might mean ECNL notified them the June /July summer season girls are hoping for is a no go. Or FC Stars believes in their specific situation their region cannot sustain a soccer opening for their team this summer. Look for ECNL to make an announcement soon either way. Other teams might try to open with in club play, training, regional scrimmages, regional tournaments or maybe a downsized ECNL league minus several teams.

Fc stars possibly has more knowledge about what will happen with the ecnl for the rest of the season than most clubs.

If MA stays shut down or limits kid activities into the summer then CT will too + NY and NJ. The NE states are all working together with similar plans in place. They also may have made the move simply to get parents off their backs, take the pressure off. Knowing (despite all this) some kids won't be around during the summer they could add some training back in later if states allow, charge for it but maybe at a much lower rate than they would pre pandemic

I don’t know about other states kids activities but CT is going to allow summer camp beginning June 29. What does that tell you?
