No dribbling, which is entirely different than first touch.
The game is played best with 2 and 3 touch. Watch the game. No dribbling except for the show offs. Messi dribbled into trouble numerous times and Neymar has never seen a dribble he didn’t like. We just watch the highlights.
All three have amazing burst speed to beat opponents and their strength is fantastic, but passing wins matches.

Can you, at least, get your facts straight?
Neymar left Brazil training on Tuesday after just 15 minutes with a right ankle injury that the team doctor said is related to a foul he suffered against Switzerland and not his recently broken right foot.

They are still whining about the rough play by the Swiss.
If you are hurt, don't step on the field to begin with

As to the decision to foul, consider a loss here a big hole to dig out of in the group stage. A draw, in part due to shutting down the attacking play of Brazil's impact player by fouling was risky, but well worth the result they achieved.

How about the truth? Neymar was intentionally fouled hard, with intent to injure him. That's what happened in the last World Cup.
Time to change the rules, to stop hacks with no talent from taking out skilled players in order to win.

They are using a deliberate tactical decision.
Do you watch Ligue One regularly enough to know if this goes on weekly?
I’m all for using the card system to reign in this type of behavior, but Neymar is a prima donna who is playing for the cameras every chance he gets.
There is a system in place so no need to change the rules-just ensure it is utilized

If the tactic is to tag team foul, then I wouldn't call it a tactic. It's really cheap play.
This sort of stuff happened in the last World Cup, in the Champions League final, and is already being done is this World Cup.
I don't think soccer can rely on the card system anymore. Some referees do not know how to control a game, and they are fooled by intentional fouls or flops.
I'm not a fan of Neymar, but Switzerland decided to trip him up every time he got the ball instead of playing within the rules of soccer. If they don't have the skill to stop Neymar, the rules should be constructed to protect the integrity of the game. Excessive or tag team fouling on any one player or team should be reigned in.

Everyone knows that certain players are handled different ways. Neymar is often 'roughed up' as he lacks the mentality to be able to deal with it. Ronaldo and Messi don't suffer this treatment as much, due to their advanced mentality.
Switzerland played the game within the constraints of the rules and it is only because the Brazilian bandwagon fans aren't happy with the result that this is even a thread!

A foul, how about 10 on Neymar? The integrity of the hame was lost.
Direct kicks and a few yellow cards are not enough. Neymar got intentionally kneed hard to the back last World Cup, and this crap has to stop. It is not soccer.
Originally posted by Unregistered View PostSurely committing a foul that prevents an impact player from having said impact, but doesn't risk your team going down to 10 men, is within the rules of the game and therefore maintains the integrity?

As much as I don't like the dirty tactics, Neymar does have to start being more of a team player and not about himself.

Refereeing is getting worse by the minute. This world cup has become a hackfest and has lost a lot of the luster it started out with , at least for me.

Misguided interpretations of the rules and otherwise poor officiating is ruining the sport. It has become about how well you can disguise dirty tactics instead of soccer skills.
All you see are shirt pulls, pushing off, elbows, intentional stepping or kicking of ankles, intentional fouls to stop counterattacks, malicious slide tackles, etc.
The laws of the game shold be revised to limit team fouls.
