Probably getting set up due to the massive unrest in the West with the change to NEFC West and rising costs associated with it. Predominantly driven by ex Stars West families that are totally disillusioned at this point.

          Clubs in western mass:

          NEFC West
          GPS West
          WUP
          CFC North
          WMFC
          PV Storm
          Mutiny

          And now FC Stars

          Vs
Number of qualified and competent coaches (and players) in western Massachusetts

          Let that sink in...

Stars decides to open a Western branch and takes on a full time director (who also coached many teams) and a few other coaches. First year was a bit light in terms of how many kids showed up for tryouts but by year two they were humming. Just about all of the best players in the West were wearing Stars gear. Stars central loves collecting the fees but offers nothing in terms of support. Director gets pulled in too many directions, decides he's had enough. NEFC sees an opportunity, sets up shop, and pulls about 90% of Stars west players to their club. The other 10% travel to Stars central, FSA, GPS, WUP.

Buyer beware.... the west was a strong program with solid players. In the end it was just a money grab for the machine, and they were unhappy when they lost 200-250 player fees! I'm sure this time around it will be no different.
The only reason RL was overworked as that he was busy stealing from Stars and the parents and being sued by Stars

This has been rumored for years now, won’t happen.

PV Storm doesn’t exist. CFC North is a CT club and has nothing to do with Western Mass

CFC North is attempting to penetrate the region, with teams in western mass. they also play in NEP

lol. Ryan was generous with his time, never felt like I was getting taken advantage of.

You are including quite a wide variation in quality in your list here. I agree that its too small of a region to even field any more than 2-3 premier clubs though. Competent coaches across the entire range of ages are surely lacking though (whereas dad coaches are not unfortunately). That would be the case even if there was only 2-3 premier clubs.

It is silly to think CFC North does not compete for Mass players beings that its so close to the border. I think the better Mass teams listed are a better option than CFC North but there are parents out there who see the bubble as a good winter option and do not know any better in terms of the quality of the program so they send them there.

Funny how definitive you are about that. Do you have any proof that this is a done deal other than speculation?

Girls definitely should join together. Both clubs don’t have one single team of meaning on that side

Boys have too much daddy sidrome to make this merger happen. Just too many know it alls.
