If you can't list any, its because there are none.

    Jus sayin.

It will be nice and warm in florida.

That wouldn’t matter so much except that Thorns academy took so many bench players from OYSA teams. Everyone knows the academy has some top players but way too many weak players to be taken seriously. Same thing in NorCal. Most of the best clubs and best players stayed ecnl.
Maybe 10% of top players. I think the restrictions on high school really hurt

Bench players from OYSA are ok. Hopefully they get better and have fun.

No incentive to leave a decent Oysa or Ecnl travel team to join an academy team that is no better or is worse, won’t allow for high school sports and, most of all, has strict sub rules only allowing several players to get significant minutes. The rest wear the patch but don’t get developed. On top of that, great players can stay wherever they want and will get recruited just the same so they don’t need to join the academy.

Oregon a state without any of the countries top players so our best locals are attracted to the DA platform for obvious reasons, its the only DA.

Oregon is no different than any other state that has been awarded a DA program(s). Minus any national level top players.

Playing for a non DA localclub
is the norm, with only 70 or 80 DA clubs in the USA.
You have a safe landing spot if you cannot make the DA level club.

No big deal. You can choose to pay to travel or just pay to play. DA serves only the best players, which Oregon has very few of.

This is why most of the top players never switched to academy or switched back to their old teams after trying it out for one year.

Spot on for Oregon and the rest of the US.

If this were actually true, then there would also be no incentive to stay with the local club vs going to the DA. The bonus of having it subsidized would be more than enough weighed against staying at the local neighborhood club.

Now since there is no real competition for spots at the local clubs, it's no effort to stay and to make a DA squad you would have to tryout and prove your ability or face the reality of not being selected vs the current status quo of having the ability to pay thousands to travel.

Since we have no idea who these 'great' players are that choose to stay at the local club it's all fiction writing.

If they chose high school over the NWSL Thorns Academy that is their problem. It’s under $4,000.00 per year for Thorns. Nobody cares if you lose a lot and there is the playing time guarantee that will help if you aren’t getting playing time in OYSA or ECNL. What more can you ask for?

Nobody really cares if girls chose to not play for the Thorns. As long as there are enough to field teams it’s ok.

Thorns is $4,000.00 for one season? I thought it was $3,050/season?

I highly doubt the Thorns get 10% of the top players. Jesuit and Clackamas both are much stronger rosters. That is just 2 teams.

*Maybe they can play some local friendliest vs ECNL teams.

                              Why? Ecnl teams are terrible

Clackamas lost 8-0 to Jesuit. Thorns vs Jesuit would be a close game.
