We are headed to this tournament this year. Any feedback from any Floridians on what type of tournament it is? quality? We are playing in the U-19 Boys division, Thank You!

Many groupings so many winners. Not the best soccer for most groupings but fun experience for all on fields and then parks.

Hot! And bring PLENTY of money: Disney charges for non-player entry. Surprised Disney doesn't (yet) have pay toilets. Or do they?

I agree. Went there last year as U16 and Disney charges for just about everything.....becoming almost a scam. Especially to get International teams over here to play. The teams were more interested in going to the theme parks then playing soccer. The Honduras team had 3 players late because they were at the parks. An embareassment all they way around.

number of entered teams is way down this year. I'm a ref and they said they are turning away many refs due to the bad numbers

Be ready to bow down to the Internationals

They are the ones paying the big bucks. They are needed to make it an iternational tourny. Disney oficials will tell you flat out they are there to serve them. They don`t have to show up on time and most calls will go their way.

Fun tournament and a good time can be had at the parks. There was a lot of talk last year about the team Rural Alphaez that is in your age group, so I would ask Disney to check on them. Ask them to have that team to produce a secondary form of Identification as everyone believes that they dummy up their passcards. Again, it U-19s so if you do not mind palying 25 year olds and college kids then you should be fine. Also, understand that things are expensive and uverpriced and the tournament is in decline for the older groups.

This was very expensive for our team last year.

Completely agree, very hot and extremely high costs, go in the winter when it's cooler and worth all the extra the costs. Our U11 Girls won division last year but will only go back in the winter when it is cooler now.

This time of year in Florida late afternoon/early evening thunderstorms are common.

Disney is very vigilent about lightning hazards (which is prudent). Disney is also very particular about keeping their events "on schedule".

Be well versed on Disneys's tournament policies on suspension of play and matches "called early" due to dangerous weather. We've had some disappointments and "surprises" at Disney after lightning delays. For example, match suspended at the half with score at 1-0. Play resumed, then match ruled completed after 1 minute into the 2nd half. Huh? What happened?

Disney said shortened match was necessary to get tournament "back on schedule" (Disney does have lights, doesn't it?)

It is what it is, just be aware.

                        Moral of the story...

At Disney, "score early and score often", because you may or may NOT have the opportunity to play an entire match.

4 or 5 games spread out over 6 days (when they could all be played in 3 days)

Required to book accommodations through Disney's designated travel agency

All designed to get you to spend money at the parks between games

                          No thanks!

Lets face it you are one of the parents who is a downer on the team. If you can not afford to have your kid play soccer then either find a different profession or find a different sport for your kid and stop crying like a liberal.

our team is playing for almost nothing, sometimes being local pays off.
