At most GDA programs, the B team is NPL or FSPL. Taking WFF as an example, most of their B teams are in, or near, last place in those leagues, coupled with the GDA teams being in, or near, last place.

Not sure this change in age years will have much of an impact on anything at clubs like WFF - other than some girls will get to play in games with even more lopsided scores.

It would be silly for them to drop completely out of the DA for good now for the last month or so of HS soccer with still 5 months of the DA season remaining and two showcases.

Good excuse for a senior to not have to go back and do the GDA work.

The highest league of the land should be consistent and then it goes ahead and gives a private school freshmen HS player a waiver.

Does IMG just to the south of WFF still have a GDA program and any B teams?

That program is awesome , their facilities are European like - pricey but scholarships given, the older kids are studs

Private school waivers have always been around for the boys and were in place for the girls from the start as well. The thinking behind it is kids who are getting financial assistance to play soccer shouldn't have to chose between their education and DA. It is up to the clubs to decide whether or not to grant them (some won't give any at all) and all have to be approved by USSF.

Year 1 of GDA they grandfathered in girls who were already playing on public high school teams and the grandfather period was supposed to last until 2021 (to incorporate the last of the freshmen). But as we know it was a cluster phuk - some teams barely had enough to play games, many players took it as a license to play HS and DA at the same time (which you cannot do even if you're given permission for HS). So USSF said no more public school ball for girls, like the boys, effective this season.

Or, they're doing what is best for them and makes them happiest. Life is short and it's their last chance to be a kid.

It was a some clubs last year that did both (or ECNL was A and GDA was B). But I think every club that had both has gone back to ECNL. But some DA clubs have NPL or other league teams that would be their B teams.

Who do you think will replace them? You're not going to get better players who are currently ECNL. They've made their choices. You're going to get progressively weaker players. Same with all those top clubs that left GDA but were replaced with weaker ones. It will just get worse and worse.

Bingo. there is a limited supply of girls with the interest, talent and money to want to fill up all these teams. Cant do a thing about the interest and money part so the talent part will suffer.

Even more so with the league on shaky ground. It's a very tough sell currently.

Again they have to do something to change the thought from ECNL ! They are going to allow school soccer for GDA is what we are being told . The reason the girls side is use to playing for there schools and the girls damanded it .

Things take time. GDA clubs should be focused on developing the seven year olds but are they?

Isn't the waiver for all grades?
