Originally posted by Unregistered View PostWrong. Top scorer in the league last year was an NEFC NPL player. He is a freshman at UPenn now. Another top scorer was the NEFC player who is still at Rivers. The star Brooks player from last year, who led the team to the NEPSAC championship was a GPS NPL player. He is now a freshman at Columbia. And the dominant Milton team from a few years ago was loaded with GPS NPL players. There are certainly a few DAP waiver kids who are impact players in the league as well, but if you watch this league at all, its clear that the NEFC/GPS NPL kids are right there with them.

How and why is that even debatable?

Originally posted by UnregisteredWhat's really shocking is that you cannot follow the thread. The statement was made that the NEFC/GPS etc type club players are mid-pack "role players" in the ISL. As the last poster illuminated, the top scorers in the league play for NEFC, GPS, etc. Or perhaps Bolts NPL/ECNL.
How and why is that even debatable?

NESJ has posted its Top 15 teams in NESCAC, based on a coaches poll. Here's where the ISL teams rank:
7 (tie). Brooks
7 (tie). Milton
9. BH
12. MX
15. Rivers
My takeaway is that most of the coaches they polled don't really have a clue as to which teams are likely to better than last year, and which are likely to do worse. Brooks as the co-favorite, with all that they lost?? Whoever posted predictions earlier in this thread was much closer to the mark than this poll.
