The Revs Way: Don't bother developing the players THEY scouted, sh it coaching over the fall season, blame the players and CUT them over the winter break, get in a new crew of players who somehow are available mid DA season which means they have to be high school soccer flunkies, don't bother developing them either, cut at the end of the season.

Yes our children are easily replaced. Maybe if you were doing your job they wouldn't be.

Which goes to show that other clubs develop your players better than you can and you know it too!

Note to parents: We seek top talent not projects. We owe you nothing.

You seek top talent from other clubs? Great!

There seems to be a lot of anger regarding the Revs Academy here. The program either works for your kid, or it doesn't. There is no money to hire knowledgeable coaches or a decent director (management has no idea what these people would look like, anyway). Scales is doing the best he can with his limited mentality and experience, hiring the only coaches in the area who are naive enough to want to have their names associated with a completely unsupported organization. Burns needs Scales in place for at least one more year, but I doubt he'll get rid of him after that, since the academy's failure is not affecting his job security. And Kraft is totally unaffected by how the academy performs, so it isn't even on his radar.

Many families know all of this, and either steer clear, or give it a shot for a year to see how it goes. The families that go in completely blind will either stick with it, because it's the best training/exposure they have nearby or can afford, or they move on to where they feel development might be better. Some parents feel their kid needs to play in a real MLS Academy environment to reach their full potential and, realizing the Revs is not such an academy, move their families or send the kid to a residential program.

It is what it is and people have accept the fact that nothing will be changing unless Kraft sells the Revs. If the top is disinterested, then it trickles all the way to the bottom. If it didn't work for your kid, let go of the anger and spend the time patching something else together to give your kid better opportunities. This can take a lot of work on your part and your player's part, but that's what it takes sometimes to reach your goals. Yes, the Revs should have been an easy route to getting your player recognized, but you've been rerouted, so make the best of the new journey.

Note to parents: We have instituted a new post-match recovery program.

                    Anger? Nah.

I want parents to know what they're getting into before the sign their child's development away.

                      Word.

Yet some families who are very aware of the issues decide to go anyway. Do they think it won't apply to their kid, that their kid is that special? They start the year all gun ho. By late October the complaints start to ramp up and after the showcase, full disillusionment sets in. Rinse and repeat again next year.
