Here is the most obvious FLAW with the DA

100% of all Girls DA teams and players are required to play the exact same system and formation. The same formation played by the National Team (currently a 4-3-3). Only 0.5% of the girls will actually have a chance to be on the National Team. So 100% of DA girls will have only played the same formation their entire DA careers (some start at 11 years old).

On the surface that might be ok. But here is THE ACTUAL FLAW: since DA teams can only play against other DA teams, 100% of the girls have also only played AGAINST the same formation.

DA defenders know exactly what to expect and attackers know where the holes are, week in and week out! Suddenly they get to college (or on the international scene) and nothing computes anymore.

DA coaches are simply not allowed to change anything on the fly, even if they see a weakness they can exploit. Is there any doubt that upper management at US Soccer have their heads so far up their azzes that they can't see what's going on back on earth??

4/4/2 is the proper formation with a center attacking mid. American soccer is pure unadulterated ****. And girls soccer hardly counts. Although for a girls sport it’s not bad.

Dumbest comment I’ve ever seen on here. This is 100% untrue. Every DA club Andy team can play any system they want. What a completely ridiculous comment.

There's no proper form. D ok certain things work better than others? Yes. But not always. I don't agree that this is the biggest flaw in DA. I t has many substantial flaws. But having a certain curriculum that is to be followed does encourage robotic play and less creativity

          Not true.

I’ve seen teams change formations and style DURING the game...based on what the other team is doing.

There are plenty of things to complain about with the DA, but this is not one of them.

Page 1 of this manual will make it obvious the USSF wants the 4-3-3 to be the core of everything.

In two seasons I've only seen our team deviate one time, briefly, and it was a hot mess.

But I agree with you, in that it's like complaining about the placement of the deck chairs on the Titanic. There are other, much larger problems.

No, the most obvious flaw in DA is that it has not improved the quality of play or players one whit.

This is taken directly from the US Soccer Curriculum Manual. If you happen to play a back 3 for example, you are in direct violation of US Soccer wishes, which dictate a back 4 for in all cases.

You may have a coach that says "fk it, this is stupid" but technically he is not following US Soccer (and Development Academy) wishes. And by the way: that's great!

                    4-3-3 formation
Teams will use the 4-3-3 formation, either in its 4-2-3-1 or 4-1-2-3 variations. Teams in the advanced stage (U15 onwards) can also use a 4-4-2 formation with a diamond in the middle.

This system(4-4-2 diamond) provides more space in the wide areas of the field for the outside backs to move forward and join the attack.

                    Back 4
All formations used by the teams in 11-a-side games must keep a back 4 line. The back 4 provides consistency in defense and allows space for the outside backs to move forward when attacking.

You play with only ten players?

You guys are cracking me up.... Rufus says "3-5-1" (which equals 9 players) and then Treyfus says "you only play with 10 players?" to call out Rufus.

You wouldn't know a formation if it smakcked you upside the head. And by the way, stop yelling for a penalty each time there's a foul in the midfield.
