unfortunately for the da/ecnl format to work you need the 4-5 studs and then you need the "rest", if the rest aren't showing up then its a tough sell in some markets, especially south florida
Sell something better or sell it cheaper if you want more business. It is not rocket science. Look how ever other biz moves merch. It is not by blaming the customers.

OK so lets all play FSPL! Then we can go to WAGS and Jefferson cup to get seen by Div 3 schools and NAIA.

This is just going to dilute the already diluted GDA.

Is there an official written statement of the change or is it wishful thinking?

            this is a fact.

Hey moron no you read the rules. They can play part time and practice with DA all year. play with their club, play high school, and then play in 12 DA games after high school also. Or they can play with their club, play in games before high school, play high school, and then still practice with the DA and stay with their club after high school also. Bottom line is they can only play in DA games before or after they play high school but can still be with the DA and their club all year. Those are the facts. I can tell you there will now be many players who will want to stay at a good club and play part time DA. It’s basically the same as playing as a Discovery ECNL player except with ECNL you CANT ever play with another club and there can only be two Discovery players on each team. Why do you think everyone wants to be a Discovery player? It’s so they can still stay with their own team and club and not have to commit to the full time ECNL travel that they need to get a second mortgage for!! With the part time player rule there will be a lot of players leaving ECNL to DA unless ECNL gets smart and increases the amount of Discovery players they can have.

I think parents need to take matters into their own hands at this point. Dont care about league but I do care about having a strong group to train with. Just talk among yourselves parents and try to come to a consensus about which team all join together. Then be supportive of one another. Kids are unlikely all interested in identical schools so they are not directly competing for a certain college roster spot. Good luck all.

strong grp to train with? what exactly does that mean? its cool at the u11 u12s , but if you are serious about soccer at the u15 -u17 then you need to be playing in a competitive league , matching up against teams from out of state to see if you can hang with the big boys (girls)

Join a competitive league together as a strong team. Do not dilute yourselves by one going here and one going there. Organize!

The poster doesn't know how to read or do a google search. It clearly states in the rules discovery players cannot play at other clubs, let alone simultaneously. They have to play at the DA club on other teams, either a younger team or a lower level one and cannot play anywhere else. DPs also can't jump back and forth - if you start as full time you can't step down to part time. If you want to stay PT but have used up your games before showcases or playoffs, too bad, 12 game max. You also cannot play HS and DA at the same time regardless of your status as a full time, part time or waivered player.

Part-Time PlayersClubs may add up to an average of 10 Part-Time (PT) Players, averaged across all club’s age groups (U-13 thru U-18/19), which will count against roster totals, according to the Part Time Player Policy. The 2018-2019 policy is available at www.ussoccerda.com. A Part-time Player (PT) player is a player who is rostered with a DA Club or their affiliate Club that is not ready or able to contribute at the Academy level full time. This player is not playing consistently and/or enough minutes in DA games to fully develop; therefore, the player is eligible to play games outside of the DA program. The PT player consistently trains 3-4 times a week (depending on their age group) and must train with both teams; recommended 1-2x a week within the DA and 1-2x a week with the non-DA team.PT players can play in a maximum of 12 DA games. Note, at U-13/14 age groups, any PT player added to the game day roster will count as a game played. To supplement their Academy game minutes, the PT player is eligible to also play games outside the DA on a non-DA team within the club or in an affiliate club as part of his/her individual development plan. PT players must still follow the Academy play-to-rest ratio.PT Players may not be registered PT with any two different Academy clubs at the same time during the same Academy season (Sept-July). PT Players may only change their status to Full-time once during the Academy season and they may not return to PT player status. Furthermore, a PT Player does not automatically garner Full-time status after participating in their twelfth game. The club must submit their intentions in writing to the Academy Office to move the player to Full-time status. Players that have played in the maximum twelve (12) games, are not eligible to continue to play in Academy games, unless the club indicates the desire to move the player to full-time status and the player status has been updated to Full-time by the Academy Central Office. Note, Continued usage of a PT player after their 12th game could cause a club to forfeit games due to the use of an eligible player. Additionally, PT players are eligible to participate in the Academy Playoffs or Academy Championships.

Most Weston FT players roster for maybe half of their games. I know of one FT player that sat out all the way up to the showcase last week. It's a complete mess and USSF could give 2 sh!ts. All they need are bodies to give the appearance of "demand."

How has JS been received? I know he lost some players early, but that could just be due to his no nonsense hard nosed style. How is his training and coaching? I don’t care about the wins and losses....he lost a lot of their players before he arrived, so that’s tough. I’m curious how he’s developing what he has.

as a Weston parent, its what we expected academy settings to be like from day one, tough love, some girls that were soft left. sunrise girls are debating about going back to their club and may stay on as full time... words getting out , JS is setting this up as the place to be in girls soccer in SFLA

hate all you want but it is what it is
