      2014 D1 Boys Starting a Lot

      Now for the seniors:

      Player/School/G/GP/GS/G/A

      Matt Mooney/UMass/18/18/18/1/4
      Luke Albertini/CCSU/17/17/17/0/0
      John Conry/Bryant/15/15/15/0/0
      Noah Teperow/Seton Hall/16/16/16/0/2
      Harrison Swartz/Northeastern/18/18/17/3/1
      Frantzdy Pierrot/Coastal Carolina/17/17/16/7/2
      Alex Desantis/UMass/18/17/17/8/5
      Casey Hamill/UMass/18/17/17/0/4
      Declan McCabe/Georgetown/17/16/13/2/7
      Christian Sady/Harvard/14/13/10/2/2
      Henry Balf/BC/17/16/10/1/0
      Freddy Ferre/UML/16/16/15/0/2
      Mario Prata/Seton Hall/16/11/11/1/1
      Will Rasid/UNH/18/18/11/1/1

So this class has 35% Starting. Several big names have stepped up. There is one kid here who battled to get on the field for years for a team who has returned to being a National power out of region, Georgetown. Great job! I will add him to my handful. Lots of players here look to be one of the best players on their team.

        2014 D1 Players Subbing a Lot

        Player/School/G/GP/GS/G/A

        Klisman Sousa/PC/18/18/7/0/2
        Jacob Fitzgerald/UML/16/11/1/1/0
        Eric Udelson/BU/18/9/1/0/0

So 42% of this class was playing a Lot by their Senior year. I used to think that was a low number until I saw the recent classes.

          Other 2014 D1 Boys

          Of the rest:

          2 Saw the field.
          3 DNP
          19 NR

The big story here is 13 players in this category recruited to UMass and UML. A few made it big, as you can see on the earlier posts. A few transferred. Most ended up here. Sad.

This is how it works. The further up the pyramid you move, the fewer players survive and play. Not every DAP-ECNL-or whatever alphabet soup league is created next, player is guaranteed to play in college. It is way more competitive to obtain a roster spot and then see the field and contribute than most club parents and players expect.

UMass quietly improved this year. Kinda under the radar.

OP here. While he did reject quite a few MA Boys, there are 8 MA players on my lists that are playing a lot for him. And it is working well. Much less so for UML. A lot of internationals moving in.
