    why is MYSA so crazy

Just watched by nephew in Ireland playing his U14 game. Game is being played with Normal rules with only limited attendance at games. People laugh when you tell them the kids have to wear masks and the rule changes and noones knows how the kids are going to be able to run with the masks on.

People need to wake up and not let people that do not know the game ruin it for everyone. Did anyone see these presentations from MYS - its all about not being sued.

What is going on here in our great state

There seems to be a minor ref revolt. I have heard US Official and others are begging for refs.

I wanna know what happened to modify the rules OR wear masks? When did it become both? Why do we have to modify the rules if we’re in masks?? Why do we have to wear masks if we change the rules?! ***fffff

Could be that while MA and the whole island of Ireland have similar size populations, here in MA our # cases are 4x higher and deaths are 5x higher. Ireland managed this better with masks and a government that had a well coordinated response rather than the nonsense coming from our WH every day. Now they barely have any active cases so they get to play normally.

Only state in the whole world with such ridiculous modifications and law changes to the beautiful game of soccer.

That’s what happens when you have Borslow in charge.

What are you talking about? MA has more mask usage than almost any other state but somehow they can play normal soccer and we can't. 49 other states have the same WH yet we're the only one who can't play soccer without masks.

A little off I think RI isn’t playing at all. So I guess it could be worse?

Actually, demand was so far down from last year's Labor Day weekend that it was a pretty slow weekend to begin with. Usually USO has begged for refs as Stars were paying slightly higher rates than GPS tourneys in years past.
Lots of town leagues are not even having a season too.
No private high school or college club season too which are usually both assigned out of USO.
USO did send out an email to all refs about club games this coming season but that's typical.
Not sure how supply/demand is going to match up but it looks like games volume is declining quicker than refs willing to work.

If 49 other states aren’t requiring masks, then you’ve answered your own question. Now if there was just a way to turn MA into an island...

Field hockey players have to wear a mask. Th r y also changed their rules, including the number of players from 11 to 7 allowed on a field.

Baseball and volleyball players also have to wear a mask

The State is not going to change the requirements at this point until there is an effective vaccine. Complaining is not going to change anything. Be happy the kids can play. It could be worse, particularly if you live in Rhode Island and parts of California where games are not currently permitted.

Complaining may not, but protesting sure will!

What time are we meeting? Can we paint the streets with "No Mask or No Peace!"

MYSA is following the guidelines set forth by the state. Don't blame them.

BS they are. They are petty tyrants just like the rest of the State government. Anyone who can read the metrics the State put out will see that this is all complete nonsense.

7 day Positive test rate under 1% (and has been for awhile)
3 day deaths: 8 (yes... 8! The lowest over)
Deaths with known underlying conditions - 98.3% (Healthy people don't die from this, unlike the flu)

Do you know what stat they don't publish? Deaths by age. Why? Because that would screw up their petty tyrant gig. The average age of covid deaths in MA (when they did publish the number) was older than the average age of deaths by all causes.
