And my kids were both starting players , DA , etc , etc, so I’m not bitter bc my kid wasn’t favored , in fact he was the opposite but the BS they do and feed people is horrendous. They have no system or philosophy to play by. They pick the most athletic players all molded the same for the top teams and they don’t foster creativity. Basically, dribble with head down , never pass the ball, try to show off to get picked for better team and smash right into opponents to lose the ball and work twice as hard instead of using the upstairs organ ( 🧠 ) . They are doing everything possible to fit in American soccer current stagnant state...
I've seen it at every age and on every field with CSA. Head down dribbling into traffic, bad touch, receiving on the wrong foot, wrong body position all of it encouraged. Confronted a "technical director" one time - he said "we want our players to be able to take on a defender "one on one" and beat them, so that is our goal....

enrollment is down every year - that's why the indoor facility has never been built. The facility is the only possible lure for this place

This is either a CSA shill or typical idiot American soccer parent. I've seen them on the sidelines saying the dumbest crap. I heard one saying the other day "that's a foul!" and then overheard a parent who actually knows soccer and then say "there's tackling in soccer"?

This guy above is either one of the idiots alone in his car with a mask and gloves or if he DID have a wife, she WOULD be banging anyone but him

Overall the "academy" is sub par - the girls program is slightly better as they compete at top tier in some age groups - boys NONE. Especially the younger age groups with the girls but overall they don't develop, teach bad habits

only positive is a few decent coaches who care and that complex

The coaches that truly care are few and far there even on the girls side, it’s really unfortunate and hurts the growth of the overall programme. In all fairness the loss of the DA label hurt a lot too as the overall quality got worse and so even if some teams appear more successful it’s simply because the whole product is just weaker in the new GA league.
The grossly lopsided scores so far tell the whole story about the new league.

Apparently more changes within the coaching ranks at CSA, if true it’s amazing how much instability and change that place goes through. Coaches coming and going, new DoCs etc....Why is there so much change at a place that has such great facilities and is well funded? One would think this could be the prominent club in NJ if not the East Coast if they pull it all together.

What was the coaching change? Was it Monmouth or Bergen?

There ARE coaching changes - No team or age group or gender or coach at CSA is establishing itself anywhere. There is 1 top ranked girls team in the state there are NO boys top ranked and only a couple ranked in top 10 (almost none of them Monmouth, except the girls 1 ranked team)

It's the same old crap there:
Make you tryout (as they don't develop but recruit players) - tell you the roster is full and take your money and then as the season moves on other players just mysteriously appear and start training
Same old bad habits taught to the players - kick and run, dribble into traffic, head down, bad touches not correct, bad receiving the ball, bad positioning without the ball - none of it corrected or instructed
The office does not answer your emails - if and when they do, they lie, push it off on other mysterious staff that do not exist or do not answer your emails

Ask them how many of their academy players (that started from youth and developed within CSA) have made it to pro? or even semi pro or a big D1 school - you can count them on one hand

None of the places is perfect and you get out of it what you put into it - but this one is the worst - the facilities continue to be the main draw. Stay away from CSA until they do a big overhaul and actually do what an academy is supposed to do
