It's fairly simple, the board members and parents let him. It's like America right now, so much corruption on both sides and yet most Americans are like sheep being led to the slaughter choosing to not even acknowledge or let alone say anything about it.

And since we are speaking of good ol' Al, what's with him blowing the whistle before every practice begins, getting all the boys/girls to come over, only to send them away once they all get there probably 70% of the time. On occasion he does have his words of wisdom but if your not going to give them, then why bother?

Can someone say power trip.

He is the German guy that curses at the kids, travels on the parents dime all over the USA, and play kids 2-3 age groups up so they won't leave HIS club.

Not sure if it applies to your specific team but some coaches do it to get their kids exposure.
Not taking his or anyone's side just explaining the rationale behind it as a "general" rule of thumb.

I don't know, why does HB have more of his club players get more soccer scholarships than any other club in the area? I would think it is about networking and if you are seen at more of the showcases around the country, would it not stand to reason, the players would have a better chance to be seen by college coaches? But I understand the frustration by other club parents, that do not have the same thing going on at their club, to get petty and ridicule. It is human nature to lash out at things that are foreign to people. Also to address the competitiveness of the club, there are 4 boys teams teams that are in State Cup this year, 3 of which are into the 2nd round. That seems pretty competitive in the state of FL. Hey, they may not win in a place like California, but the experience will surely make some individuals and teams, even more competitive facing FL teams. The funny thing is that most all of the players at other clubs in the area will play soccer only in the state of FL and be done playing after U18 and never get close to experiencing playing soccer in other states.

Would you rather have a great coach like Hans, or a parent coach teaching you kick and chase at Celtic? Look at the results on the field, Celtic has been crushed in all of the leagues they participate.
