I don’t think anyone can say for sure right now. Our clubs intention from what I’ve heard is to essentially form teams based on coach/director input and family intentions (ie which level do they want/not want to commit at).
If play resumes on 12 April (doubtful) bet most clubs would just delay and do tryouts in late May/early June.
Most would probably still do July tryouts, assuming leagues/training restarts around May.
If you can’t resume until June/July, just forget it.

Calm down, folks. Tryouts will occur. Albeit, later than is typical.
We kind of have this thing going around. It's been disrupting life a bit. Maybe you've heard of it? It limits our ability to schedule public gatherings (such as tryouts).
This, too, will pass.
The Management.

US Club suspended soccer through April 30 to match federal governments stay at home recommendations and US Youth suspended soccer through April 15. US Youth will have to go further and push it out to April 30. That overlaps some clubs' published tryout dates for late April. Published tryout dates for early May are obviously no longer realistic. Teams are normally formed by mid-May, so clubs will need another strategy/solution to form teams. Has anyone's club/team asked them to register now for 2020/21? If a player is looking to change clubs, should you just contact them about registering? What is everyone seeing out there?

Virtual tryouts. That’s ridiculous. Every club will be in the same situation. Whether it’s WYS or PSPL. There are bigger and more important things to worry about then when are tryouts or speculating what may happen.

What is a virtual tryout? was that a joke or really something they are trying to do? How would that work?

Guessing virtual tryouts are more like evaluations for in-club players. Honestly, do you really think 2 days of tryouts determine whether or not an in-club player makes the teams? The coaches know the players from games and practices. They know abilities and work rate. The tryout happens during the season even if the season is cut short. Most players will probably return to their teams. Cuts probably won’t happen unless you’re not a fit for the team. Look for huge team rosters next season. You’re going to see a lot of club hopping happening via emails and phone calls because coaches know certain players from other teams and are happy to have them. USYS has already cancelled Nationals and Presidents Cup. The season is essentially over. If you want to jump clubs, now is the time to do it.

XFire just sent an email confirming that players can just register to reserve their spot in the club. Pretty sure all clubs will be doing this and not worrying about tryouts.
