That’s interesting. Still comparing yourself to FKK. How many years has OC had ECNL? From the looks of it OC ECNL is not doing much better. Best advise we ever got was from a college coach to our HS son. Don't zero in on one club go to a few tryouts you never know how a team will be unless you open your options. Talk to the teams coach about going to a practice and see for yourself. If your focus is on college look at the clubs that are putting that at the forefront and don't worry to much about field proximity.
We took that advise last year and tried out at 2 other different clubs and son choose the one that wasn't even the one he liked from the beginning.
Lastly don't focus on gotsoccer ranking they are so off. HTHComment

Didn't OC have GDA this year? That would mean that OC is playing the top teams at FKK with basically their second tier teams ( which is their ECNL). So why do we always compare OC and FKK. Its not even fair. Example on the younger boys side, many OC team compete with FKK when the OC third tier teams compete against their top teams. If the girls did not have DA, then I am sure the OC girls ECNL would be much better.Originally posted by Unregistered View PostComment

with any DA, Boys or Girls, when looking at rosters you will see that a great majority of players do not live in a 15 mile radius of the club (like most ecnl and gcf/npl teams). Many come from areas anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours away.Originally posted by Unregistered View Post
so the never ending argument of a clubs teams underneath DA are their "B/C/D" teams is ridiculous. If a club did not have DA, those out of area players would not schlepp all that way to take little johnnies spot on the ECNL or "purple" or whatever the name of the team is...
so please stop trying to make your non DA teams better than they are.
Now, if your ECNL team loses to a non ECNL team (ie OC boys u15 ecnl team) then you should be concerned...Comment

It isn’t our fault that FKK can’t attract players who live outside a 15 mile radius of your club. Maybe if you spent more time focusing on your club and less time bashing OCYS on the internet, you could develop a club that players would be willing to travel play for.Originally posted by Unregistered View Post
By the way, when I say that ECNL are our second teams, I’m not saying that to be critical of the players. They are good players who are working hard to be the best players they can be. ECNL provides a great opportunity for those players who are either not quite good enough for DA, or who don’t want to play DA due to HS soccer, the time commitment, etc.Comment

Anyone that knows the new ECNL director at OCYS, knows that things are definitely on the rebound. OC has had it’s share of issues, but they are making moves to be better. With a large amount of the Pride girls coming back to ECNL, those teams will immediately become very strong. FKK couldn’t beat OCs second teams this year. They will get blown out next year.
