Then there's the club's utter disinterest in GDA to begin with. CFC made it's bed last year rejecting GDA. They seem pretty comfortable in that bed.

It's also clear that with two ECNL clubs in CT that there isn't enough talent in the state for a 2nd GDA club. Most lower CT players interested in GDA would head to NY before going to BS (and some already are).

As for some big clubs dropping out yes, it seems to be happening according to the rumors. It'll be fine for everyone involved and won't effect ECNL or GDA all that much. What it could do though is drive some of those clubs better players towards other clubs.
Right now the Stars, PDA, Hawks, etc have 2 teams in each age group, 1 in ECNL 1 in DA. When those clubs pull out of DA they will now only have 1 top team per age group. This is going to cause quite a stir at those clubs. 36 top kids right now across 1 age group gets reduced to 18 kids next year. The 18 that get excluded will be very unhappy.
My guess is they will see what they end up with and form teams accordingly.

I know many scoff at the idea, but if the club is 2-4x bigger than other clubs and they are within a dense geographical population, then why is it any different than awarding it to another club?
I also know it's not altruistic...it's all about $$$ and not losing the folks who bought into GDA last year.

I chance SiT’s and Derek’s and Farrell ever merge. Never heard ver.
The GDAP is done. They should add south shore select and FC Copa to replace those 2. These clubs pulling out is making US Soccer look like the biggest failures ever it’s pticeless. Imagine if they added a 2nd GDAP club in CT. They would hurt Oakwood and be a club with results like empire. LISC and NYSC.
It was fun while it lasted but really ?? Already horrible score lines for teams like Penn Fusion what’s is going to be like next year.
