Clubs with limited player pools will have to find ways to accommodate or add on when allowed aka BS and OW.
    OW gives waivers in GDA.

So, while those kids are playing h.s., other kids are getting time in GDA.

When the waiver kids come back, those kids who had been playing get bumped to the bench.

Nobody should complain. That's just how life works.

They give them for boys academy as well. And remember, no matter what US Soccer says, waivers will always be possible or other loopholes will always exist. These silly rules are only for the mediocre players that they need checks from to float this whole mess. As usual, if your kid is really good, they will play in Europe. For those really good players that do not want to play in Europe, you can continue to do whatever you want, whenever you want and US Soccer does not have the constitution to try to stop this nonsense. Just goes to show you that their programs are not as important as they claim and that pure soccer ability comes from the player and from nowhere else. US Soccer can't put it in you and will always allow strong players to do as they please so that they can proliferate the illusion that they matter because they have strong teams (fueled by many players who play 9 months a year and their play does not suffer).

anyone can miss kids tho. Its supposed to be a league where the so called best players want to play. The fact that Clubs allow waivers confirms what we all know. its about $$ and wins = $$. Its hard to convince prospective players to join unless you win.

OW only gives waivers to prep school players not local high school players. and yes the high school players who make the commitment to GDA and gave up HS soccer do get bumped when prep school girls come back after there fall season.

it just shows you that the culture is not based on any loyalty. This is not pro sports. Does not have to be that way

Oakwood gives waivers to Prep School kids only. Last year too many kids wanted waivers and Oakwood wasn't going to be able to field a team. Thus...chaos.

But 99%+ of DA won't go pro or are even interested in doing so. College is the goal. If DA wasn't so large it could focus just on the most skilled players willing to make sacrifices. But USSF needs thousands of players to make the system work.

That is what it is supposed to be - private school kids only. But it still creates issues. Public school kids forced to give up HS, work hard all fall are then displaced by private school kids in the spring

If the private school kids aren't missing a beat by playing in the "mandatory" 10-month DA/GDA program, then the program isn't quite what it is being purported to be.

Then even more so. Virtually no girls are interested in the pro track. GDA also has to compete with ECNL while on the boys side DA is the front winner by far. Of course GDA clubs will accommodate more because they have to

its really not how the GDA is supped to be at all. Again...G DA. If playing GIRLS HS soccer is key to attendance at the school, then all good. Jut play ECNL then. If there is no other commensurate Cub , then OK waiver. but should be very very rare and unique circumstances. The fact it isnt tells you all you need to know about many things

                          1. people think rules dotn apply to them
                          2. Clubs will do anything to win
                          3. USSF are hypocrites
                          4. USSF clearly dont believe that the extra training changes much short term. they put kids on NTs that are playing ECNL . ie they overlooked kids who are grinding it out in their own league for kids who were barely playing. Im not talking phenoms either
                          5. Clubs have no loyalty

All of this was out there with BDA and all predicted when GDA was announced. No one should be surprised by any of it. Starting next year I think they'll stop taking ECNL kids just to send a message that NT kids have to do GDA or you're out

'They really dont. what are they accommodating? it supposed to be about the kids that want to be there and put the work in. I want to play with my friends if fine..but thats not supposed to be GDA mentality. The fact that for some, it is and is accommodated tells you all you need to know.

the quality should rise to the top on the back of better training. If it doesn't then the USSF have grossly miscalculated how good Club coaches are.

Im not at all surprised. I know first hand that YNTs are not really all about ability. Also know that more training only benefits kids who bring it every day. on the girls side VERY few do.

if you restricted the GDA to only players who were at or very close to NT standards...you would maybe have 40 players in the entire NE across all the age groups ..LOL
