I sure hope you aren’t using this as a pro academy argument?

Those were all ECNL kids last spring.

Academy just got dealt a terminal blow today.

Enough with NT already! 99% of players DO NOT CARE. That is not a selling point to them for GDA. You can get them/keep them by offering a superior training product and exposure. Even then you'll still only get kids willing to give up HS. This is a much smaller market than USSF and even some clubs realized. GDA can survive but not in its current form

I understand that a new York based Gda team will announce they are done early this week. Another one and done. Same reasons cited as fc stars

It's a slow implosion happening before our eyes.

DA is just not the right fit for the girls. God try but the proof is in the pudding

GDA will remain, but without Stars (and PDA in Atlantic), the arguments for GDA attracting the best talent are even more watered down. When you are left with just a small # of clubs without significant player pools, you realize that GDA is more niche than competitive as a league.

In places like Southern Ca, GDA may be stronger, unless they decide to roll out their own regional league.
85 percent or greater of students go to college within 4 hours of home. Even with soccer in the equation, the vast marjority will go to school within their region. In the northeast, ecnl will be the place college coaches shop.
