NEP league vs Northeast Soccer League

Accepting that the DAP, ECNL boys, and NPL are top leagues, after that does it matter if you are in the NEP vs the Northeast Soccer League?

If there is a pragmatic recognition that player will remain at that level, then leagues are same. If there is aspiration to move up, then NEP clubs offer pathway

Then why are all of the Stars NPL teams playing in the Premier Group and not the Super Group?

The top brackets of all leagues have plenty of good teams in them.Certain clubs used to be dominant forces not anymore.

What I've seen is that the higher the league, the better overall quality player on average. Not every team, but NPL generally has a faster speed of play and athleticism than top NEP and ECNL/DA is slightly higher than that. General rule, not absolute. Nothing wrong with NEP or NSL if that's where your kid is. Everyone develops at a different rate and peaks based on their own genetics and desire...

NPL teams are often not that great. If the NPL league that you are in accepts large clubs only, many large clubs have lots of OK teams. 1st division EDP is achieved by promotion and lost via relegation. I think their first division is at least as strong, top to bottom, as their NPL division and many of those teams are stronger than NPL teams.

Here's a wake up call for you. Some DA,ecnl teams are not the high level everyone assumes they are.And if you watched or played against or for and with them you would know.

Of course any person who has been part of NEP/NPL/ECNL/DA knows that there are are dogs in every league. NEP teams that can contend and beat NPL teams, NPL teams that can contend and beat ECNL/DA teams, and hell, there are probably some top NEP teams that can beat the dogs of ECNL/DA.

For most families, there are so many factors that come into play when choosing a club team/league, including league travel, club location, commitment and sacrifice level, tuition fees, potential playing time, other sports, and other kids needs in the family. Just find the one that fits your kid and families needs the best, and where they can get ample playing time, while also still being challenged enough, and worry less about the letters next to the league name.
