Could we do better? Yes absolutely. To your point with our resources we should have more players playing overseas. MLS should be playing more Americans. The James Sands and Ben Mines of the league should be getting more first team minutes

Dynamics at BDA are completely different than GDA so let's stop comparing them. It's apples and oranges. BDA is the primary league. GDA isn't at this point. USMNT is ranked in the twenties and UWNT is ranked number 1.

Would they not have to be outplaying the ones playing in front of them to get more first team minutes?

It's a long season with plenty of minutes to go around. Mines got some minutes in the CCL and scored. MLS teams need to find those minutes for deserving youngsters whether in USL or MLS
