Clearly written by an imbecile. In Washington, just like in every other state, the best players are in the ECNL clubs. Second best are sometimes in GDA, sometimes in state league. In Oregon GDA is somewhere below rec level.

Depends on what year you are talking about. In the 01 pool Pac NW is as good as any ECNL or GDA team. That does not seem to be the same case for every age group. Pac NW obviously did a good job convincing that one year they could get a quality experience without going to ECNL or GDA. And judging by their results in nationals and their recruits so far, I think that was a smart call for them. In fairness it should be noted that they’ve certainly not saved any money avoiding ECNL and GDA. It always costs a lot of cash to be on a successful traveling team. Unless you are a Thorns soccer subsidy recipient like our GDA girls.

It may not cost much cash to play for our Thorns, but the players pay plenty.

They pay in damaged confidence and self esteem after flying to Florida and getting 0-11 minutes of playing time.

They pay in lowered GPA’s and decreased academic opportunities from missing so much school to travel.

They pay in decreased family time.

They pay in decreased happiness from missing so many things that make high school fun (other sports, extracurricular activities, free time with friends).

They pay in decreased joy and burnout for a game that becomes a full time job when they are as young as 12-13 years old.

But hey...their parents are saving a few thousand bucks a year. And get to brag about Tobin Heath being at practice now and then. Surely a little decreased happiness and self esteem is worth it.

Top 10 rcl teams in wa are much better than anything inn Oregon

Top 3-4 rcl teams are better than the watered down Ecnl scam and clubs like Spokane and PAC NW are clearly better than Washington Ecnl teams.

They would finish 3rd if you took these 3 teams and did a round robin...

Are you saying Pac NW would finish 3rd? You obviously don’t know the team. They’ve beaten every ECNL team they’ve ever played including ones that routinely smack around the PNW ECNL teams.

That's a lot of lies to pack into just two sentences.

PacNW 01's aren't really that good. They lost their best players to WPFC years ago and are now just a pretty good team in a weak league.

Which is still 5x as better than anything with an acronym in Oregon.

Just not true. My educated guess is they would lose to CU handily, lose to FCP by 1 and tie the GDA team. They definitely should sweep the rest of the Oregon 01s.

They also would finish behind both GDAs and the ECNL team in Washington...probably 4th best team in Washington.

All in all....this probably puts them about 7th or 8th in the Pacific NW behind also FC Nova.

                      ....not bad.

Do they have to pay a fee to get their photo taken with Tobin Heath or is it included in all the fees they already collect from parents.
