Obviously not a problem for a destination club like stars or nefc, but a reality at a lot of other places.
"Destination club" term is fading fast. Go to tryouts to one of these clubs and you shall see that it's not the turnout we all assume. Excitement is fading s l o w l y.

Keep closing your eyes and wishing that. Maybe it'll be true someday.

Uh huh. Big turnouts and plenty of kids interested. Keep telling yourself it's fading.

No, what's happening is kids are starting club soccer earlier, and by the early teen years they have a much better understanding of where they fit in the hierarchy. Their parents may still be delusional, but the number of kids showing up to try out for a top team at one of the big clubs is much lower than in the past because the kids know the score.

Sadly, some teams will show up and learn they don't belong on the full field.
These days everyone wants to "accelerate" the learning and development process and be out front and show how advanced they are in soccer. Have a kid play up because he's that good, have an entire team play up because the competition sucks, play 11v11 at U12 instead of allowing the progression to the larger fields to evolve with player development. But everyone thinks they need a leg up so little Mia or little Landon will be the next great thing or the clubs and coaches can talk about how advanced they are in thinking. That league ? Oh no, we play play in this league because its so much better. Is it right or wrong ?...i honestly dont know, but if it isn't then change things instead of the approach currently being taken and develop an overall program that will enable us to grow soccer in the US, especially on the men's side given what i saw last night on TV. Ok, rant over...gotta have my coffee because I am too grumpy when i wake up.

Stars website says "accepted teams 8/3". Does that mean we can expect to see a list of accepted teams posted soon, or just that accepted teams will be notified?

usually a list will be provided for all to see.... they usually stick to the timeline pretty well. The fun has yet to start...

Why is the schedule not done?

Easy tiger. The accepted teams are posted first and then about a week or two later they post the schedule. Best tournament around for that weekend.

Accepted teams are out. Brackets and schedules to follow. Looks terrific. Best tournament in the area.

Looks like nothing but local teams. Where's the reciprocity from other ECNL clubs? Why aren't they sending their teams to this event? If this tournament were truly an important event you would be seeing a lot of teams from different parts of the country attending. What it really is is nothing but a localized warm up event. At least no one has to fly half way across the country to play watered down competition.

PDA, Alberston, East Meadow, CFC, World Class, Breakers, NEFC, SS Select, Bayside, Seacoast, GPS and Stars to name a few. Other good clubs from NY and NJ also coming. Generally you don't see team travel at U12 and under. Great acceptances at U13 and U14.
