Why have the thorns had such a poor record?
The league they are playing in has some of the worst team in the county so that probably doesn't help.

Because they can't draw flies to tryouts. Talent level at Thornz Asylum is abysmally low.

Year 4 for Thornz Asylum and it gets worse every year.

Is this your personal experience or your opinion?

Just look at the facts. Anyone that can walk and chew gum at the same time (leaves out Timbers lemmings) can see the Thornz Asylum for what it is.

An academy that produced the top women’s team in the country who is investing thousands and thousands of dollars in Oregon’s top female youth players in a brand new national DA program for girls! Love it!!

The thorns haven’t been trying to get girls into college the past four years. It is a pro track. The fact they got one is a big bonus.

ECNL got 40 last year so that’s the college track. Even TA teams put numbers into college.

Not every path has to lead to college.

It’s only been four years. Give it another 3-10 years before you go getting all judge-y.

Really? The academy is the reason the NWSL Thorns won the title? How exciting? How many homegrown academy players were part of this magical season? Why wasn't this in the media???

I am a fan of CC as well. Price is low, credits transfer and standard of play is good.

If the degree from Lane is your end game then I can agree. But take those first two years and transfer to a bigger school get your bachelors and that is not to shabby. Then head to graduate school and all is good.

Going to CC won't hinder your chances in being accepted to either.

Every year for the past four the thorns get blasted for failing to get college signings but they fail mention that it’s a pro track not a college track. Plus i heard most girls don’t stick around for more than one year is that true?

Nope. That’s all false! This is actually the first year of the DA program nationally for girls. We will have to better evaluate its success in a few years. The girls will be getting a lot of looks from college coaches in fact this December. Thorns are flying them all to Florida for five days for a DA college showcase. Does ECNL pay for the players airfare and hotel to it’s showcases? Nope didn’t think so.

For the most part it is still the same girls that have always played for the Thorns. Why haven't they been doing showcases in years past? If they have how come girls haven't been getting any offers

You need to read up on girls soccer in the US. This is the first year for DA for girls. First year for the league, for showcases, etc.
