No one is playing soccer with masks on. That will just cause new issues. The only people who think that is reasonable have never played a competitive game in their lives.

No one is requiring kids playing youth baseball to wear masks. Masks are required to be worn when entering and existing facilities, as well as on the sidelines when social distancing can't be achieved. Coaches, parents and others are the sidelines are required to wear masks. The only thing changing in MA is what activities will be permisable on the field of play.

Perhaps there may be some modifications necessary for youth soccer in the near term, such as kick ins (vs throw ins), no corner kicks, etc., to eliminate touching the ball with your hands, sustained contact, etc. I would be fine with that if it means that kids can play soccer this Fall.

Who said petitions don’t work! Thank you to all the signers and the people behind this petition that sent over 15,000 signatures and comments to Baker this week. Let the soccer games finally begin in MA and stop forcing our kids to travel out of state to play.

It seems like their intent was to reclassify soccer and no-contact lacrosse to moderate risk. However, by not removing it from higher risk, it leaves soccer ambiguous. Until this is cleared up, clubs and organizations would not be able to participate in levels 2 & 3.
Can someone be contacted to get soccer clarified and removed from higher-risk altogether if that was the intent?

the document was updated. . soccer is officially medium risk
great for club and maybe town travel. . not sure it will change much for high school which is a different calculus around schools
but still great news

It's moderate only as non-contact. The doc doesn't clear anything up. A full on soccer match would still be high risk. They just took the word "soccer" out of high risk.

Stay home, shelter in place for a couple of years until we have a vaccine or this pandemic blows over.
In the meantime, kids have a greater risk of dying driving to the game than dying from the virus.

Read the document, it is very clear.
Nothing else need to be added
For the freaky parents, keep little Mia at home and make your own rules, nobody stops you.

The league schedule should be out within the next couple of weeks.
Lets hope there are no setbacks.
