It's making a comeback. Some can't afford ECNL and DA/GDA so it's a good option. There are quality players and quality coaches, still. Look at most top collegiate or US soccer bios, they are involved in ODP.

Can US soccer get any worse? The mens team is a disaster...and it seams that the rest of the world is catching up to the womens team.

Think he is done with ODP. As are most good coaches. Another problem. Hear parents say they are done after this year as coaches are not strong and it’s not worth it.

That's because they're older and OPD still functioned decently well a few years ago. Most of them probably also did it when they were younger. By U15 most get the exposure they want in ECNL or DA.

Poster from another state (dead board). The quality of ODP coaches in our state has definitely gone down. So has the quality of players in it. We're done. We already spend enough on club soccer and don't need this too. Don't need it with ECNL now (U15). DA players aren't allowed to participate and really why would they?

Nice, you are good. Everyone else missed it.

Is WCFC all in on boys ECNL, too? Wouldnt the drama on the girls side be a problem for them expanding boys DA?

Not GDA related, but yes, they are all in on the Boys ECNL. Their DA program is fast fading. Losing the 12's next year, and their 07's are awful. They do have a great 06 team, but those players will be picked off by NYCFC and Red Bulls by next year

NYCFC/WCFC ECNL tryouts this Sunday, mixed teams, should be depressing for most of the current A-Team ECNL parents, as they will behold greatness, and despair.

Sorry koolaid drinkers, you got roster spots and small rosters at NYCFC because no one tried out .... ready for some real competition? Can't wait to hear the excuses .... boxes of tissues at the entrance.

Some of those WCFC ecnl teams were not very good at all, so I would imagine many of those parents will be worried having NYCFC kids at their tryouts.

My daughter is graduating so I comment without self-interest. IMO, there simply is not enough top talent to sustain both programs, and in the end, a true partnership in the top girls league in this area was best for all...
