this is why as my kid gets older i just make sure that she understands it will only get harder to stay on top teams and that there are always kids coming to take her spot. It is for her to decide if she's serious about her game or if she wants to dial it back. There's nothing wrong with playing for fun and not being DA. Just know that if you wan tto do the ECNL or DA thing it isn't going to be a cakewalk on a team that everyone wants to make.

Later in middle school is when the pedal hits the metal. Some kids decide they don't want the pressure of the higher levels. Once in the HS years it's as much about mental fortitude as skill and hard work. It isn't for everyone, and that's ok.

That’s because other clubs develop players better. That’s why ow needs to go out and recruit players that go to goal and not play In circles

            Clubs develop players......

The fantasy just continues on and on and on and on and on and on........

So many fools out there that club owners can rely on to continue to provide them income because they buy the crap being fed them that the "club" is a wondrous developmental tool.

Clubs do not develop players in the sense that they are out there teaching individuals how to play the game. All they do is provide a platform for the kids to be playing against and with other similarly able and motivated kids. Do they teach some technical stuff? Sure on occasion but in general that is up to the kids themselves to work on during their own time or to go out and get additional training specifically for technical.

What some clubs do is help put certain kids into situations that are beneficial to them. That means giving playing time that is not impacted by mistakes. Putting them in certain positions more often so they gain experience and understanding of a position which can make them appear "better" than kids who may only rotate into that spot occasionally.

Clubs also will give certain kids the opportunity to attend extra training or play up. My experience is that this is almost always more to do with connections and the checkbook than actual ability of the player.

OW takes almost anyone at the younger ages. A lot of these kids at ulittle don't even have soccer as their favorite sport and some are just heavy and slow. And looking at their parents that ain't gonna change. So I don't understand why OW always gets bashed because kids get cut as it gets more competitive. If you have boys that want DA and there is only two options the kids at other clubs that love soccer the most, have the athletic ability and train hard are certainly going to outplay the OW kids whose parents are more into them playing soccer than they are.

IMO it just makes sense that a lot of OW ulittles get cut. Have you ever seen these kids? I am not calling any kids out but in general their parents are un-athletic slugs with dreams their kids are superstars. That doesn't mean there aren't really good players at OW ulittle, just not a whole teams worth.

so i take it that your kid isn't good enough to play up or have extra training. no reason to be so angry that your kid is probably where he/she should be... whatever level that is. its OW, its anywhere else doofus.

Oakwood isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

There’s a local player that was told she couldn’t handle the level at a young age. Same kid is high school all American and will be playing Division 1. Oakwood is joke on the girls side

Take your time. Read very slowly. The words are not too big. Ask someone to help if you don't understand what some of them mean.
