      Question Man Responds

Does it make sense to hold on to ECNL bottom thirds who are obviously just mailing it in and should be on NPL now just to not rock the CFC boat? Is it fair to NPL girls that work their butts off not to move up and take the spot of a ECNLer who just dosent care anymore but mommy would revolt if she was moved down. Are NPL starters put there to bolster the NPL team and make it competitive when they should be playing ECNL? Who knows?
Why would a player seek to move from a roster that gives her playing time for 3/4 to a whole game to one that cuts that playing time down to that of a reserve?

What is your evidence that those sitting in the reserve roles on the ECNL roster are just "mailing it in"? What is your proof that these players don't care anymore?

Are you just throwing shade here because you can?

How much playing time is there with 26 girls on the roster. CFC loves collecting the checks and hit moms, so if you meet one of the two criteria’s your daughter is safe one ECNL. If CFC just focused on one team in every age pool and every year took top 19, our state soccer pLayers and Leagues would be extremely competitive.

Yankee is a couple years away from being relevant again, remember you heard that here first! Parents want that standalone team approach, that’s why CFC branches are closing and leaving.

        Branch pathway is OVER!

Try sobering up before you post. YU is disappearing into CT soccer history. No doubt some CFC branches are poor quality and run by incompetents. Having branches constantly open and close doesn't do much for their reputation. CFC definitely needs to consolidate. there and make sure branches have better management and coaching. But by and large the branch system works for them. They can get 2/3 of their CFCU players from their branches then fill in with other club players and have decent teams. If their branches did a better job the teams would come into CFCU even stronger. As for roster size they simply benefit from the lack of good options. Some kids don't want GDA, FSA is awful and NPL competition and club options (aka YU) isn't great. Some families will leave each year but there's always others willing to pony up. Luckily they have the composite team to make sure players get PT. Without that there would be much more grumbling.
