What??? That's crazy! I know there rules about playing club soccer in-season but this special.

So are you saying that there is other 2000 talented in CT that may have been offered this but had to turn it down to remain eligible for high school soccer? I am sure there are more than a few freshman across the state playing varsity.

On the boys side it's 2001 so that's should be safe and most talent should be at DAP anyways so highschool is a non issue.

On the boys side not one boy from Oakwood, BSC, NYSC, Westcher FC. For that matter not one boy from CT or NY seems odd.

But is that Tony Lepore's son on short list? Hmmm

So might the fact that CFC has always been an Adidas club and just switched to Nike have something to do with these placements? I'm sure since this camp is funded by Nike, they aren't taking players from non - Nike clubs.

CT players are not involved in these kind of events during the high school season. Check back in spring.
Where do you get your information from? Quick search one of these young ladies play for arsenal u14 and Darien?
Not sure what your agenda is but hopfully that was your last post.

If they are U14s, they could be in middle school. Congrats girls

Look, if you said they got it because id2 is an ECNL identification program, then maybe you would have had half an arguement and wouldn't have been a total clown. You still would have been wrong as to why these girls got the call, but atleast you wouldn't have been a complete tool.

Learn about the program before you shoot your mouth off. It is not just for ECNL clubs either. I know multiple players who went to the camp that were not ECNL. It has nothing to do with sponsorship. Nike sponsors Us club soccer, not Cfc directly and not only the ECNL. Uniforms and game ball have to be Nike as part of the sponsorship.

Perhaps if you looked at the success of the team the last 2 years you will find a correlation. When you have success on a bigger stage, the general thinking says you must have some quality players. When the coach recommends you for the program, the success of the team and the name recognition of the club probably buys the recommendation some merit.

McLean Youth Soccer congratulates Cayla White, member of the U13 Girls ECNL team, for being selected to attend the upcoming U.S. Under 14 Girls' National Team training camp in Portland, Oregon. Only a few elite players can say that they have represented the United States at the National Team level! Coach Clyde Watson praises Cayla: "Cayla has combined natural talent with hard work. She has an eye for detail. It is those qualities that has afforded her this opportunity. She is so deserving of this honor." Congrats, Cayla!

that list is full of errors. many kids have the wrong club and state. i thnk only 1 ct kid made it.

What is this program? It's not ODP correct?

Another reason to choose CFC when choosing a club for your player

No it isn't - those opportunities exist at other clubs as well

I believe that being a Nike club, meaning wearing Nike gear and using Nike equipment does give you an edge in getting into Nike events. SCP was a Nike club and recently switched to Adidas. When they were with Nike, they had a statement on their website that being a Nike club, they got special access to Nike events. I don't think simply being registered with US Club Soccer, which SCP is even though they're an Adidas club, has anything to do with access to Nike events. Nike is one of many US Club Soccer sponsors, they don't run it.

My daughter plays on CFC pre-ECNL (2001-2002), this camp was never even mentioned and to my knowledge not one of our players went. Not dissing the camp, just it wasn't mentioned. Maybe at the U14 age group it was, idk.

There is a reason that it is not mentioned... Club coaches nominate players for ID2 based on perceived ability. ID2 is a nomination only identification process

The coaches will not tell the other parents that their little superstar was not nominated

So they will encourage ODP, but not nominate anyone for this? I mean what exactly is this? I seriously don't understand.

You can't buy your way on into this program. The id2 is an approved ODP program. Which basically means it's a proven pathway to National camp run by the USSF.

Sadly State ODP (good old CJSA) is become pay to play.

Interesting that the lists for boys and girls was taken down. So maybe there are not 3 CFC girls on here. You think they get the list right after the camp was over.
