LOL. It's OYSA soccer people not Champions League !
The bastard (who it turns out was actually not a bastard) was worth saving. London School of Economics Portland branch? Not so much.

Turns out a hackathon won't get you into OYSA - who knew?

Big clubs are pushing on: (i) club standards in general (has more to do with how teams are placed initially), (ii) clarity on recruiting and player transfers and (iii) Timbers relationship (at least some).

Maybe that is influencing the way OYSA is looking at new applicants, but I don't think it can be understated how much of a headache startup clubs can be for OYSA, especially after some of them started with big promises and end without paying their bills.
Yes you could be right which is understandable and fair. What's not right is the apparent witch hunt to discredit a club who is yet to kick a ball.

Surely this club should be based on the experience the players/parents have this year?

What's the point here. They have a program in London ? Sounds horrible everyone run for the hills.

Sticking with GOT references, maybe they should be called the Sparrows. Kind of a cult.

Probably because there is some fatigue - yet another startup, no local track record but gets the benefit of the doubt from families because of the foreign accents that established clubs don't, coupled with heavy recruiting/marketing. It feels like they don't play by the same rules as everyone else.

I say that all with some degree of empathy for anyone trying to start something from scratch.

Will the players have to buy full kits for both SCA and this mystery club? Or will OYSA let them trot around in SCA uniforms flagrantly flaunting OYSA’s rules about for profit clubs? Two kits = at least another $500. $2500 for this shaky house of cards is insane. Hope they stick around for year 2 to make the costs worth it.

No idea. Would it offend you and stop you sleeping at night if they were to wear a different uniform?

How people can judge someone without sampling a club or coach is beyond me.

Because to many of us have been down this path before.

I get it. Once bitten twice shy. So don't join the program or have your kids join the program.
But to come on a public forum and actively try and ruin the reputation of a program that hasn't had an opportunity yet to prove itself is a step too far.

First impressions are everything. The club does not, nor even tried to meet the standards of OYSA non profit standards. The club is trying to exist without the over site of a board of directors whose by laws must be in accordance with OYSA standards with the sole purchase of protecting kids.

Well then simply answer the question. Tell us who they will play under. My guess is that SCA doesn’t have that answer. They are probably hoping this plan will work.

They tried Willamette and thought they had it locked but OYSA called Willamette and the lamb it dropped SCA like a used condom .

Now they are trying to latch on like a leech with IFC. The deal is crumbling already.

SCA is nothing more than a extension of GPS which was run by the masterful snake oil‘s man MJ Tate. These boys at SCA were taught well by MJ. They will tell you that they left MJ because of the bad things that MJ did but in reality they are just a carbon copy.

Unfortunately the sheep have followed these goons and they will waste a year . In the end we will all giggle

Why would any club risk their OYSA status by letting SCA play under them? SCA doesn’t meet requirements set by OYSA. They need to respect that and move on. Plus SCA has told people it’s better if they aren’t oysa b/c they would have a lot more options (no idea what these options are). If they really feel this way, why are they still trying to be oysa?
