There are OYSA “B” team players at Thorns. Fact.

Giving up 35 goals in 5 games is not like getting shredded like cabbage. Come off it.

But they scored one goal so give em credit where credit is due.

You know your program is tanking when you cling to one result by your 05’s as proof things aren’t spiraling down the tank. XF beat your mighty u14’s every time they played until this last result. U14 match reports don’t showed minutes played or who started but it’s obvious XF used this match as a chance to play their bench players and to their credit, thorns took advantage of that strategy. But that 2-1 win doesn’t erase the multiple losses to XF including the 0-5 loss earlier this year.

The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. If Thorns academy can’t admit they aren’t getting the majority of top players, they won’t be able to change things for the better. If Thorns Academy won’t admit they have a problem with players 12-20 getting almost no playing, they won’t change that and will continue to neither attract nor develop players. Having the academy in Oregon should be a very good thing for our female players. Sad that it isn’t. Hope things get better. A strong academy would help us all.

Of course, Thorns had present three players that are leaving their team too, but a win is the right direction against what is supposed to be the Top NW team heading back to the ECNL, leaving the DA. 2/3 games previous between these teams decided by 1 goal. Local Friendlies against similar talent benefit development for both teams. There should be more locally if coaches and DOCs would stop tripping over their own egos.
XP probably didn't play any starters. Give their bench players their guaranteed play time or start time or whatever it is when playing the worst team.

Why are people on this site so content on beating down Oregon teams that do well against competition? You can check the US Soccer page game report, entire team rostered but one. OR blog should be excited to see OR teams win. I am not saying any team can’t have an outlier loss here and there, but 3/4 games between these two teams this season were decided by one goal. Coaches play starters when two of their wins were come from behind. Both teams were competitive with other. Be happy for an Oregon team.

XP brought up their B team players from ECNL to give them an opportunity to play in a real soccer game.

It might take a few years but the academy should do better at the youngest ages in the future.

If there was a problem players would of got out and went back to the alliance teams they came from.

The U15 team can barely walk and chew gum at the same time. Something like 35 goals conceded in 5 games. Poor kids.

Looks like Oregon ECNL before GDA.

That’s spending half the 90 min games digging the ball out of the back of the net. Getting your cleats tangled in the net and having to have teammates help you get out.

I don't think anybody claimed to be getting the best players.
