GDA is hurting girls soccer in a big way. ECNL not much better. The cost involved in girls soccer is crazy. It could be done at a local level.
The cost for boys soccer is also crazy unless your kid plays for an MLS academy team. OW and BS are at least as expensive as FSA on the boys side ... moreso when you factor in travel.

That’s because FSA is soccer facility disguised as a soccer club

Not really, they play 2 league games for that 1 trip.

So. The travel is just as long. You also need a hotel stay too for Md and other longer trips. al

More bang for your buck. Are you going to drive to MD and back in one day? Prob not so you still need a hotel room. Get two games in one weekend, next weekend two games at home. Also, with limited GDA sub rules you might go all that way to watch you rkid play for 15 minutes or less.

Most ECNL away games my daughter plays we play two games and have 1 night hotel stay on saturday night (rarely, when we have earlier games, 2 hotel nights). For GDA, you are driving 4-5 hours for a single game with one night stay and then you have to do it again a week or two later for that 2nd game. More hotels, WAY MORE MILEAGE, more meals, tolls .....

DA events all require flights for almost all teams as well. At least ECNL has a few events that are more drivable for some folks (PDA, SC east coast then AZ and TX out west for those folk). ECNL events also are 3 day, GDA often 4 depending on your luck.

I guess you can see them at ECSU in a few more years so you do have that going for you.

Montreal to Portland is roughly same distance as Maryland to Portland

Yeah, except it’s one game per trip vs two

A lot of BDA clubs don't provide transportation. When they do All teams have to stay there all day for other teams to finish too. Makes an already long day even longer
