I mean it was kind of jerky to all bail on Bayside to follow LR over to Surf. It was actually EPYSA who developed those players before and during Bayside and then they went to Surf. Now they want to play them to have parents say, hey you should have left with us LR has scouted more players and now we are awesome. End of the day those girls and their parents owe all their development to EPYSA and Bayside, they’ve got nothing but headaches from Surf.

EPYSA and Bayside did not develop the 2 best players (out of the 6) that went to Surf. These 2 girls played for EP and Bay for 4 months. Who developed them the previous 2 or 3 years they played? And now 1 year after those 2 left Bayside, they are crazy good now. You should play them, you will see. Imagine paying club prices, and your coach has his wife coaching his team for him? No wonder why they all left. Don't be sour because you got left behind.

The best players from Bayside that went to Surf were EP players for many seasons. Maybe you thinking of someone else? Doesn’t matter EP develops players not Surf. Bay is part of EP and they are all such a great part of the state for real soccer talent. Who cares if Bays coach needed his wife also a former player to step in on a game when there was a scheduling issue. She was not training them she was helping out just like a team dad would for Surf. It was no big deal since again she wasn’t training them. Get over it. That Bay team before they split up were the best in the state for that age. But all the talent did not go to Surf that’s what you’ve got wrong. A couple promising players left but several really good players stayed and they team has a wonderful team and great coaches. They are not worried about their players leaving for Scorpions like Surf is worried about. Bayside will stay string built on talent and great reputation while Surf founders and loses players to NEFC MA teams and Scorpions. Bayside has the best coaches and best program in the state.

Public service announcement for the 2010 parents talking about specific teams/kids. Everything will change by the time it counts (u15 and up). The kids that are superstars now will likely be surpassed by others. Kids that choose to move on to high level leagues will find much more competition on their own teams than they have ever had before. Many kids with over involved parents at this young age will burn out and either quit or stop developing. This story has played out the same way for years. Let them have fun at the younger ages and don’t worry about which club/team/kid is winning games at this age.

When did Bay become the evil empire that needed to be burned down. They could barely field a full girls team a few years ago in each age group. You want to compete with the best, get some strong coaches and a nice facility and the talent will follow. Dads pounding chests will only get you to U12...

The Surf - Bayside rivalry is real. Not based on playing each other since Surf started during a pandemic so what can they prove? It was just the totally classless way the Surf coach former NEFC coach went to the Bayside games and recruited for Surf and NEFC. The way the team just got lured away for pipe dreams and BS. There is no possible way those two clubs can get along.
This drama between the clubs was not just at the 2010 level. Surf lured kids from Bayside of many different teams and ages. They didn’t lure them with a championship record or team but instead they sold families on a reputation built in California and it totally worked. But they didn’t bring the talented California coaches and teams, it’s just a bunch of RI players and coaches in a different color jersey. No need for them to have come here and dilute the talent in a small state. Too bad for everyone that supported them coming because now we won’t have strong teams.

No dog in this race, but out of curiosity—what could LR possibly offer to Bayside players and their families that could be so enticing that they would quit the best team in the state at that age group?

Also, if all the best players got recruited to Surf, then doesn't that actually reduce dilution in RI? It just didn't end up concentrated where Bayside fan might like it.

Bay 2010 was never best team in RI. 2 years ago tied Lusitana both time they played, last year lost to Bay Strikers. How does that make you the best team in the state? Yes best overall club now, but give it time.

Exactly. Why leave the best team?

They left because of the coach and they wanted to play with the 3 very skilled players already on Surf. That made a very strong starting 9.

Smithfield and Cumberland coaches have done such a better job in developing girls than Bayside with 1/4 of the resources like clinics, 2 practices a week and camps.

When the original Strikers teams started to catch and up and beating Bayside teams Baysidefc quickly merged them . The same thing happen in Cumberland. In Providence/Pawtucket the Pumas coaches told them to go pound sand and they went to NEFC. Get over it !!

See public service announcement above. You are talking about babies like they are ready for national team pool. You are embarrassing yourself.

Bayside was not the only coaches responsible for developing the players that went to LR at Surf. Besides, the Bayside kids that went to surf, when they played for Bayside, the team was average at best (sorry kids). LR top 3 on the team you are referencing at surf, those 3 are better players right now than any of the players that came from Bayside. So i guess LR knows what he is doing.
Okay PM and Aleski get a life.

LR and PM together has 0 certs or playing career to justify they have a clue about the game. Someone please through those two a life jacket when it comes to running training sessions. They couldn’t run a bath never anything about the game.

Exactly. Amazing how this thread started with ma poster shifting on to and has evolved into discussion 10 year olds playing small sided games, focused on score lines. Proving the title of the thread to be on the money.

And why is the coach not accepting invites to scrimmage 2010 and 2011 teams for free? Troll or really current on that surf team? If current, you were probably getting cut in June anyway.
