Is this a fact? or just a troll poster? I believe they have a new coaching staff so it seems possible but who knows?

I've no idea but a new coach will usually honor the commits for the incoming class as they have no time to look elsewhere. Any years after that and all bets are off. If an NLI was signed then he/she has no choice, but that doesn't mean they will play you.

How will this effect coaches attendance at U15 showcases?

Are you referring to Seton Hall or coaches in general?

In general, they may attend more older groups, no?

I doubt it, my kid is U15 and has had a slew of coaches at showcases and league games. The wording of the new rules is so very vague, it changes very little. Club coaches will have to play a bigger liaison role, but they were already doing that. Offers will still go out and be accepted, the social media posts will be delayed but that's about it.

No they start shopping early and start building their lists of prospects then monitor them. Maybe fewer head coaches go to mostly freshmen games, but they'll still send assistants to pre-shop for them. Early recruiting will still go on - less of it but it will still happen.

Has this been confirmed? Who is posting a kid that has had offer withdrawn or someone hoping their fake friend has offer withdrawn? You can't trust TS. Got to BTN....kidding. Can't trust either one.

Yes. Always have and always will. U15 is early and most are not recruited at u15. The ones that are may be very very vocal but are not the majority or even close to the majority.

The rule changed 2 weeks ago. Offers (verbal) will no longer be made until Summer before junior year. No more Freshman and Sophomore (until summer after Sophomore year) verbal commitments. "interest" can still be expressed early but no details on offers.

Bingo. We have a winner. Early offers weren't supposed to happen this year either but have. All the latest changes did was move a few dates. Early offers will still happen.

but so what? if you want to commit that early and find a willing party, who cares?

This is copied straight from the NCAA website...SO MANY LOOPHOLES

"Despite NCAA rules, the recruiting process does not start when coaches can begin contacting recruits. Taking the right classes, making sure you have film (for most sports) and researching the schools are all things you should be doing well before you start “communicating with a coach.”

As we see on NCSA’s platform every day, college coaches begin looking at athletes as early as freshman year. Even if coaches can’t contact these recruits, they are going to look at their videos and grades and potentially reach out to their coaches to make sure the student-athlete is one they want to recruit. While the NCAA rules suggest the recruiting process starts later, there are several things an athlete can do to be proactive and get a head start.

Disappointing that they could have done more to lessen early recruiting. It puts pressure on kids that doesn't need to be there. The boys have a more rational time table, why can't the girls? Is it because there are more women's programs needing to fill spots? More money out there than on the men's side? FOMO on the part of coaches, players and parents? As long as loopholes exist they will be utilized.
