Don't know. but marketing and money are both needed.

Latest GFA list now has 70 clubs not the 74 from before. EM now listed not NYCFC yes the EM link to the website still shows no GDA info. Lots of travel

Even this list is outdated. Houston GDA teams went from three, to two, now it's down to one. I'm interested to see the final list.

I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up closer to 60 when all is said and done. There are a few outliers on that map (eg Utah) where teh travel would be insane and families are saying no thanks

Part of the GDA hoopla was it's claim that it was going to somehow control costs. They of course did absolutely nothing to control costs. Combine that with the major conflict with High School ball and the travel requirements and you have a recipe for failure. The only way they are going to knock down ECNL is to somehow block aspiring ECNL players from the National Teams and that isn't going to happen.

USSF is douchey enough to only invite players from GDA clubs to send a clear message. But that only hurts those potential NT players; most players who want to stay in ECNL want to stay because they know they WON'T be invited. No, the only thing that would hurt ECNL is if college coaches stop coming to events/recruiting. And since the two leagues will now split the talent that isn't likely to happen either. Coaches will now have to shop two leagues for the next few years until things get sorted out. I bet USSF just re-packages GDA into something new in a few years without ever admitting it was a bad idea

We all knew it wasn't going to be cheaper. Some of those regions are terrible for travel - the poor Frontier bastards probably have to fly to a lot of games. It's a 12 hour drive (straight through, no stops or traffic) between Denver and Dallas and 15 Houston to Denver. Or Midwest 10 hours Minneapolis to Detroit. NE teams are very lucky they've got the easiest grouping relative to others but add in NE traffic and it's some very long weekends in the car.

The ECNL travel is beastly as well. Attack the GDA all you want but for the ECNL to go after them on travel is laughable.

Are their Westchester teams their strongest?
