This affilation is the basis for field use..otherwise any classic club would get to use the fields as their home for training and games.

Aloha U cried about this ruling and was laughed at by the THPRD..
    Posting this again.
THJSL, Aloha SC, THUSC, WT, OYSA, adult leagues, Beaverton School District, area rec clubs' high school leagues, lacrosse, and football, THPRD-run camps, all use THPRD fields.

All of these clubs are part of the Tualatin Hills District of OYSA, some are just rec clubs and the two you mentioned are Classic clubs. Just by this fact alone they are only classic arm of the THJSL district.

      4.
Being recognized by the THPRD as the classic arm of the entire district's rec soccer playing membership (THJSL) is what it is. Doesn't mean THJSL rec kids can't go to other clubs (non-THPRD affiliate clubs) most rec kids don't play classic soccer.

      5.
All the THJSL Clubs + WT, THUSC & Aloha United are members of the Tualatin Hills district of OYSA. Not sure what this has to do with the THRPD criteria that all of these clubs are Affiliates: they Provide a service that the District would provide if they did not
exist. Must be nonprofit, community based, focused on serving in-district needs and constituents.

      7.
What soccer field(s) don't they get to use? Please provide a list of fields they don't get to use, I don't think they use the swimming pool, softball & baseball fields and the skate park.

      6.
Don't even know where this came from, please expand or remove this rhetorical remark.

"don't tell THPRD that WT & THUSC aren't the 'classic arms' of the THJSL, they will lose all their fields."

Where would we find field-use documents or any implied by verbal or written agreement which substantiate your falsehood that classic clubs have use of fields because they are the "'classic arms' of the THJSL'?"

Pretty sure the other poster(s?) is saying that you're trying to lump a league with the two classic clubs, which I agree, it can't be done.

I get what they're saying because there are times of the year when our practices and games are at different locations because the groups use the same fields.

Unlike THUSC & WT, ADF will never be a categorized as a THPRD affiliate club so they won't get to have direct access to the THPRD stable of fields, as the THPRD affiliates enjoy today. All THPRD affiliates in youth soccer come directly from the OYSA Tualatin Hills District which is an exclusive and closed group listed below:

              TUALATIN HILLS DISTRICT (OYSA)
              Aloha YSC (rec)
              Aloha Comp
              Milltown SC (rec)
              Oakhills SC (rec)
              Somerset West SC (rec)
              West Hills Jr SC (rec)
              Westside SC (rec)
              Westside Timbers (Classic)
              THUSC (Classic)

              Hope that helps.

They need long-term access to fields if they are going to be anything more than personal training.

Show up to the Howard Terpenning recreation complex tonight and witness the Tualatin Hills District affiliate classic soccer clubs/teams training/practicing. Then once you witness this go to the front desk of the sports center and ask why they get to use the fields. answer: These clubs are the only affiliate classic clubs in the Tualatin Hills District.

This has nothing to do with the any other category of users who might get on the fields and would pay non-district fees when the districts affiliate clubs turn back time of field usage. LAX has affiliate clubs in the THPRD as do american football clubs.

THJSL has only rec clubs and is part of the THPRD district as well as the OYSA Tualatin Hills District. The only Classic clubs in the Tualatin Hills district are THUSC, WT and strangely Aloha. So these 3 clubs are ostensibly the classic club arm of the THJSL.

If you can provide any evidence of any other classic soccer club that is an affiliate of THPRD then you have proof there is another club recognized as the classic arm of the THJSL.

or if no player from a THJSL club ever participated in classic soccer then there wouldn't be such thing as a classic arm of club soccer for this district. Maybe that's the case. Do tell.

Two separate things here. Players and fields.

Players do go outside of the THJSL/THPRD area to join classic teams. The clubs listed are affiliates, and players registered to them have use of the fields when participating under affiliate club status. Players from within the district who opt to play elsewhere, say ADF and Bridlemile, are listed under PYSA.

I don't see that the poster said ADF was an affiliate club. Where is the comment please?

ADF has no fields that's the point. Typically a requirement to be an OYSA member club is a the guarantee of having a field(s). They don't, pretty simple why they are folding.

Your arguments are so all over the place. What is your point? I've lost track. You actally are saying some of the things the other people have said.

Are you wanting all other clubs to have access to THPRD fields or THPRD Rec Center fields?

I've seen postings that say that the fields are used by many different sports. Are you saying that WT and THUSC pay for everything as in-district and all other sports are out of district?

Are you saying that rec clubs are forced to work with WT and THUSC if they want field time anywhere?

So what if WT, THUSC, and Aloha SC are listed as affiliates for THPRD? Someone can live within an unincorporated street within Beaverton/Aloha/Portland and be considered out-of-district for fees to play or they can choose to play on a PYSA affiliate such as ADF.

                            Just not getting your drift.

You could read the minutes to learn that the district determined that rec sports programs take precedent over competitive programs and funds are the key reason for limiting number of competitive clubs. Volunteer work versus district employment numbers were important. Bond measures could help expand purchases of land to convert to sports use and allow more clubs in. This is reviewed every few years.

It would make sense if the lost MJCC but what about Sylvania, Delta Park?

You need to spend some time researching this topic and it's history, outside of this forum. Maybe then you can better process the reality of why the affiliates are tier #1 in terms of usage and the type of criteria they met to gain this distinction, inventory of fields + the fee discount. If you're not armed with this documented public knowledge of how the process works it would seem confusing and hard to decipher. All the best.
