    Playing time guidelines?

Is there any guidance from US Soccer or elsewhere on playing time guidelines for U13+?

Only for DA. Even then guidelines are just that. Starting at that age players should be getting meaningful PT but not necessarily equal PT. PT starts to be earned, fought for, but no one should be sitting all game either. .

If your kid is good enough he/she will play, it’s really that simple.

If your kid is good enough to make the team, they should get meaningful minutes.

Your kid may be good enough to make the team, but depending on age group talent/ability/performance plays a role in how much time any kid plays.Anywhere in club soccer.

Define “good enough”, in youth soccer. Why else would anyone pay a soccer coach/club to sit on the bench and not play? That’s a waste of time and money. If your reason to join a soccer club is to “play “soccer, and develop skills. It’s that simple.

Should. Except a business that needs customers and parents paying money throws a monkey wrench into that idea.

Ok, here's the truth: I'm a volunteer youth soccer club administrator writing up some policies to help our coaches, and looking to include best practice where possible. You got me.

13 to 15 should be at least 50% of a game no matter what level. If a coach cannot figure this out then they should not have picked the player.

16 to 19 about 25% of game for top leagues and 40% for all others. Players need to realize that they need to work hard in training to get playing time.

Is this a guideline from US Soccer or an affiliate or a league? Or personal opinion?

Not everybody gets a medal, and not everyone needs to pay thousands to sit on a bench and watch youth soccer. Soccer is to be PLAYED.

                              Coach/Club discretion.

No guarantees. This is the problem with US soccer, everyone gets a medal, everyone thinks their entitled to playing time. Bore off.
