We play both . The folks doing academy are not doing their child a favor in our area as the academy program is not good and the drive is horrendous. We have a new hs coach who is fired up. Holding training sessions all summer. Will be interesting to watch the program next season. Hs has so many advantages over club. The facilities are crazy good thanks to football. The stadium is like a college. The cost is next to nothing. The kids train after school at the school. It's a shame that soccer doesn't follow the FB model. Life would be easy.

Frank Rijkaard is joining Montverde Academy as an advisor
From TopDrawerSoccer.com:
"In June, Frank Rijkaard made international waves when he turned down the lucrative, high-profile job as Paris Saint Germain boss. Turns out he had a distinctly more American project in mind.
Orlando-area boys' soccer power Montverde Academy announced late last week that Rijkaard will take up a prominent position at The Soccer Institute at Montverde Academy, a new cyclical developmental project opening later this month. The former Barcelona head man will be the fledgling academy's official ambassador and advisor for player development for a program that will run parallel to the school's already established high school program."

Everyone here needs to get a life and let their kids enjoy high school: stop trying to live through them.
